The IPV is the far superior choice and that was developed in 1987. I'm pretty sure that is the version that is now used by the Global Eradication Partnership, and has seen a massive decrease in the number of cases. The one most associated with vaccine-derived illness is the trivalent OPV, but that was replaced in 2016. I'm interested to see the country of origin, because of the synchronized switch globally from the trivalent to bivalent versions of the OPV. For me, the major cause of concern is if the bivalent version is the one this person used. I didn't see an age in the article either.

Oh, I gave him a wonderful little lesson on the mechanisms of cellular injury and the types of histopathologic findings one would see on biopsy. It was a good review.
