So, you have a boat nearby and you see Bigfoot. Your escape is to not leave in the boat, but to go through the forest where Bigfoot lives and might be waiting. This makes no sense.

Calm down genius….they trailered the boat to that location. His truck was there. Would you leave in a boat or your truck?
Some of you are fairly dim….I really haven’t said one way or another if I believe him, and I’m certainly not “making fun”. I have NO doubt that he saw something, I’m just not sure what. Also, I asked a very basic question in the OP, and not one person has answerd it. So again, have any of you ever seen anything in the woods that you couldn’t explain?
As for photos and videos….there are thousands available on YouTube. The problem is, they are all discounted. Photos do no good now. People will just claim they are “doctored”, “edited”, or just “not real”…..so what good is a photo?

The better question is have you ever clearly seen anything ...?
Most woodsmen will have seen or heard things that cannot be explained. I saw some odd glowing eyes on night in the end of a wooded area by the house. The cow herd was nowhere around. I grabbed the dog and approached it, and it didn't move. So I thought, "that's no deer." Well, when I got closer, it was a deer.

My Grandfather who has hunted his whole life and still goes hunting at 87 years old used to make fun of people about this sort of thing until he saw one.
In 2002 while hunting deer in south Alabama he said he saw what looked like a tall gorilla that was pissed. He said the way this thing sounded, that it was not human or someone messing with him.

Pretty sure I saw a video of a guy telling a story about shooting bigfoot while in his deer stand in Florida or Alabama and when others went to check out the scene they found a dead silverback gorilla.

He's either messing with you or on substances or had a neurological issue leading to a hallucination or completely mistook something natural as Bigfoot. He didn't see Bigfoot.

I think I have an explanation.
I used to jog in a very rural part of Louisiana. On the dirt road where I ran I'd see foxes, deer and wild hogs. An oil pipeline ran through a part of the area I would run through and a few hunters had put up blinds along that pipeline.
One day in summer I'm jogging when I look to my left down the pipeline and quickly see something. It looked like it was looking into the hunting blind and stood about as tall as the blind (9ish foot). I looked down and was like, "what was that?" I backtracked a few steps and it was gone.
The night before, I was watching a finding bigfoot show while making fun of it and tossing back some bourbon. My theory, it was hot, I was running and my mind produce an image for a split second while taking a quick glance down the pipeline.
That doesn't explain what your friend saw, but I'd say the majority of sightings are from people whose mind has played a trick while taking quick glances. It explains why the "creature" disappeared so fast and why there are so many credible witnesses. They did see something, but it was their mind doing it.
