You’ll know if I run a mile by the bad attitude, my duck feet don’t like it. I’d rather ride a bike for 30

I signed up for a charity run at work and then remembered “oh wait? This is probably a very bad idea.” And I’ll probably walk for some of it.

But I ain’t going to let some coworkers beat me.

At what time does it become just walking fast?

I've been told the definition is a run/jog will have a point in time when neither of your feet are on the ground. Whereas with a walk, at least one of your feet is always on the ground.

Never looked it up, but it made sense to me.

Damn. Sorry about that. I wasn't making fun of running a mile. Just curious about what had happened.

but I can still run a mile.

Alternate running days with days where you walk. Target a duration goal, not a distance goal. An hour of walking passes quickly when you listen to your favorite podcast.

Try not to run on roads. It's bad for you. The older you get, the worse it is.

Ride a bike, or if you have access to a pool - swim. Way better for your body.

I so envy you, but I had a good run(pun intended) at it. Then went to the cycle
for 35K+, then had to call it quits.
Enjoy every last second of it and screw the haters. The talent alone now is worth it,
Although it was nice in my day!

I think anytime under 14 minutes is still running. Right now I just got my mile time under 8 and I’m proud of it

According to a few sites I visited, the average 1 mile times for a man are:

Age 40
Beginner-9:56
Novice - 8:13
Intermediate - 7:01
Advanced - 6:08

Age 50
Beginner - 10:43
Novice - 8:52
Intermediate-7:34
Advanced - 6:37

Generally, add 60-70 seconds to each for average time for females.
