Hattiesburg is like ground zero.

They always getting some shite thru there. Same with the Meridian, Philadelphia, Enterprise area.

Also around Tupelo. Seems like everyone in the country out there has a tornado shelter, including this one baw who buried a van in a hill.

Considering the level of hype this was a major bust

That messy mass of storms is what kept the potential from being realized in Louisiana. There was every reason to have sounded the alarm.

Glad the potential wasn't realized for most today.

People still died today in East Texas.

It was not a bust by any means.

This is just like when a hurricane is several days out. The cone is dead centered on a major city and it’s a category 4 and increasing. Then it hits in the middle of nowhere and is a weak cat 1.

They never err on the weak side.

ETA: This started happening when they allowed them to move the cone. If they’d go back to how it was in the 80s you’d see much more accuracy.

Go frick yourself. These people are predicting potential life threatening situations and trying to help people plan for the worst. Nothing with weather is for sure, it’s a prediction. If they save 1 life by “overhyping” then that is a win. This system had the potential to be a very bad scenario and that’s what they reported.

I'd much rather know the risks of what can happen so I can be prepared and it not happen than vice versa. You had a lot of residents of Joplin write it off as just another storm and over 160 of them died. Thousands more got injured.
However, alot of the storm chasers and weather reporters who are constantly stirring the pot and being dramatic gets annoying.
There are at least two people that woke up fine this morning and never saw another sunrise because of this storm and just one is one too many.
