About to relocate to Portland in June. I feel like how Quint was explaining in Jaws, the worst part was at the end..just waiting on his turn to get out.

Looks like the worst has passed here on the west side of metro Jackson. I have a tree down across the driveway, and it is slightly touching a powerline, so I cant cut it down. Looks like a little mud riding on the way out tomorrow because I'm sure Entergy is gonna be plenty busy tonight.

There was a warning... though I'm not sure it ever dropped while over Alex

There was a tornado warning, but it doesn't look there was an actual report or verified tornado. A report could come in later but given the number of chasers that were out today, it seems like a report would've already come in.

Oh, I always thought for a warning to be given there had to be some type of confirmation.

Were they just going by radar images?

The warning system can be misleading sometimes. The nws issues tornado warning based off of radar indicated rotation which can or cannot mean a tornado is occurring. there’s definitely a tornado whenever they issue a tornado emergency. Which they don’t necessarily always have time to get out

Clint if you look at the above image it says on the right radar indicated. If it says that then it’s usually a toss up as to whether or not there’s one on the ground. Sometimes they’ll issue a warning without an emergency that’s been confirmed on the ground. It just really depends on the office

Tornado watch issued here. I think they issued it here a few hours earlier than normal to warn those who may go to bed early and not pay attention.
If any tornado comes through here at 1 AM, 90% of the people will be asleep.
