I would go with President Trump over Homeland Security if I had to bet on which one is correct.

Of course they do. Most people lose an hour of sleep because of normal life occurrences once or twice a week, but when the spring time change comes along with plenty of notice, everyone freaks. It's not even close to a big inconvenience to the vast majority of people.

It might be even an even bigger inconvenience to live in a state that doesn't observe it in the age of automatically updating digital devices. I've been late for work a couple times when my phone updated the time. I've been an hour early a couple times as well. Not sure which is worse.

I think it is perfect the way it is. I love to get up early and go for a run before work and prefer it to not be in pitch darkness. I also love to golf first thing in the morning on weekends and be home before 11 am and still have the rest of the day to do stuff.

How come during the DST months I never see anyone outside if they want to be outside all the time after work. It seems most people get home from work or school and stay inside until the next morning during the work week.

The Increase in cardiac events is from changing to DST and losing the hour of sleep. If it’s permanent that doesn’t happen….

I much rather standard time. Yes you have to wake up earlier for morning hunts but if you kill a deer in the evening you aren’t cleaning it as late

The increase in cardiac events would uptick if DST was permanent due to the bodies natural rhythm being misaligned for the majority of the population.

Trump only cares because DST makes more daylight to play golf.

But Arizona is in the sweet spot of the Mountain Time Zone.

If you go west to Vegas, they are in the Pacific Time zone, but when DST is observed they are essentially in Mountain Standard Time.

So the clocks at Hoover Dam Match.

They implemented year round DST in 1974. It sucked so bad they repealed it within a few months.

I was a kid, but I remember parents complaining about kids waiting at the bus stop in the dark.

Yeah, it didn’t last long. Funny how people forget it was tried once and failed miserably.

I was down voted more on my statement, none of those people realize it was tried and it sucked.

funny how people forget we got along perfectly fine without time changes for the almost two centuries of our history before it was made “permanent” in 1966

you make it sound like its impossible to change the school hours

just push the starting time up an hour during thanksgiving break, move it back at spring break

how difficult would that be?

Or, here me out, we could just change the clocks and everyone keeps their schedules the same.

Actually, changing the clocks works just fine. The incessant whining about this is ridiculous.
DST is nice in the summer.
But it's a really bad idea when the days are short.

Sunrise was at 7am for me. Falling back means sunrise is now at 6 am.

Sunrise will never be at 9 am for me.

And the only way having an early sunrise actually helps you is if you go to bed an hour earlier. But most people don't, they go to bed at the same time regardless of the time change.

???

I don’t think Trump can sign an EO to create more daylight.
