Interesting that you are content with leveling off at about 400 per 100,000.
Leveling off? Crime is decreasing at historic rates again, currently, after the post-Covid spike and the stall around 2014

Are shootings at lsu football games and the mall of Louisiana up or down?
We all see what’s happening. The brazen shootings in public, not just the ghetto. The drag racing and burnouts in nice areas.
No one gives a shite about your overall US statistics. We live in it.
Go ahead and tell us you read Better Angles of Our Nature by Steve Pinker and now you think you are smarter than everyone else here.

That’s one. Knock him down, 3 more pop up in his place.
It’s disorganized and cultural, this impossible to beat, sadly.

I couldn’t disagree more.
We know exactly who is causing the trouble. 99.9% of them have prior convictions.
We can walk in any school and they can tell you who the problem is. It’s ignored and then it snowballs later.
The mall shooter got 2 months of an ankle bracelet. That is ignoring the problem. That is zero effort to correct the problem.

They’re indirectly funded by the cartels. They’re are the drug runners for the cartels and the small time dealers that infiltrate our schools ruining the lives the kids that buy. They don’t know what they’re selling. Just what the next level up guy told them it was.

New Orleans and surrounding environs were safer back in the day it seemed. The Marcelo Family might have had some influence over that.

When did the mafia end? It’s still there.

Because yelling “Racist” doesn’t work when you're arresting Italians, but brings simpering white people to a terrified paralysis when it comes from any skin tones darker than light mocha. And the usual suspects know this and milk it for everything it’s worth.

If you mean la costra nosa, their objective is to send money to the top so it comes back down. They have no business in the areas where the thugs live, because there isn't any, so there wouldn't be any cleaning up.
The French Quarter and surrounding areas were much better off and safer for everyone under the influence of Carlos Marcello.

Major mafia figures from back in the day have YouTube channels telling all their stories.

And it's funny watching Michael Franzese and Sammy Gravano argue with each other over the net about the roles they played in the Mafia and which one was more "Honorable".
Stop glorifying rats!
In all seriousness, Skinny Joey from Philly has a great podcast.

I think crime spilling into nicer areas is more pervasive than I can remember. Property crime is out of control in most major cities to where most PDs don’t have accurate data.

Typical breakdown (U.S., mass shootings / mass public killings) * White perpetrators: ~50–55% * Black perpetrators: ~20–21% Hey let’s make it all about race though. Who is always playing the “race card” The typical mass murderer is a white male. Why can’t that be fixed? GTFO that’s why nothing gets fixed here because idiots are too stupid to vote for their self interest while the oligarchs use these types of issues to distract.
The studies you are citing exclude gang violence. The typical mass shooter is black.
Most victims of US mass shootings are black, data analysis finds
quote:
A new analysis of 358 mass shootings in America in 2015 found that three-quarters of the victims whose race could be identified were black.
Roughly a third of the incidents with known circumstances were drive-by shootings or were identified by law enforcement as gang-related. Another third were sparked by arguments, often among people who were drunk or high.
quote:
Few of the incidents resembled the kinds of planned massacres in schools, churches and movie theaters that have attracted intense media and political attention. Instead, the analysis, defined purely by the number of victims injured, revealed that many were part of the broader burden of everyday gun violence on economically struggling neighborhoods. Nearly 90% of the zip codes that saw mass shootings had higher-than-average poverty rates.
quote:
The New York Times requested official details from law enforcement on 358 incidents from 2015, in which 462 people were killed and 1,330 were injured. It was able to obtain details about race for 67% of victims. Nearly three-quarters of those were black, as were about three-quarters of alleged assailants.
