My FIL worked there for years and so did his FIL. Eastman is the only thing going in the Tricities. I got to cruise around on N491EC for a weekend once.

I hope they're unaffected.
They moved away from there years ago, so I'm just curious about what's happening.

Can someone explain the AC and heating thing? Mine doesnt pull air from outside.
Posted on 10/4/17 at 1:19 pm to LEASTBAY
Not sure, pressure differentials created that can cause outside air to be sucked in? Somewhere an air return is creating low pressure to suck air into the evaporator system and the zero sum nature of that air being pushed out into all the rooms may not completely balance it out at all locations in the house?

I grew up about 2 miles away (as the crow flies) from the chemical plant. Haven't been back in about 12-13 years and luckily my parents sold their house and moved away a couple of year ago.

Around or about $200,000/yr for a plant manager for Shell.
Say 2 weeks paid vacation, so work 50 weeks, that’s $100/hr. That’s not counting bonuses or anything like that.

Well, my son is currently working in a plant just north of Memphis. So, this surely caught my eye.

I
I grew up in Kingsport and girlfriend's mom works at Eastman. Local news is reporting an "upset in the coal gasification process."
No major injuries reported so far. Still keeping employees on lockdown.
