If that was my kid I would be embarrassed.

I haven't been around youth baseball/softball since my youngest played 15+ years ago.
My grandson started playing 8u coach-pitch this year and I was shocked to hear a boom box fire up in the opposing team's dugout at the first game with batter announcements and walk-up music.

Worse yet, tonight I hear it coming from a dugout on the field behind us and it is a friggin' 5yo T-ball team.

My 8 y/o grandson hit his first home run (inside park) this past Friday. When he crossed home plate he just jogged back to the dugout. No hooping and hollering or jumping around. Hell, he didn’t even glance over at us sitting in the benches. Just had a big ol grin on his face and went back to the dug out. Now he did get a bunch of high fives from coaches once he was there but that’s expected. After the game I told told him I was proud of his hit but I was even more proud of how he carried himself. Told him he did it just right. Act like you’ve been there/done that before. You can be excited and you can show emotion but you don’t have to act like a clown.

Whatever happened to acting like you’ve been there before?

Meh. This did not seem that bad to me. He looked like a young man who was fired up and has some T pumping.

fricking ridiculous.

Not the bat celebration. None of that. Kids having fun, whatever.

What in gods name do the need FOUR cameras for on that field? Two douche bags running with him filming. His stupid camera on his head and whoever is recording this video.

Complete and utter nonsense.

You are likely correct. It should have said University of Milwaukee. Even more embarrassing.

Take him out the game and tell him he can't play until he puts in so many bear crawls. That can one day come back and bite the team in the arse. I am all for the players celebrating and having fun with it, but what he did with the bat, that wouldn't fly.

This is the Pottstown Scout Team. They are nothing more than social media influencers. The coaches are all influencers and they pick the best kids across the country to go play against really good competition and film it for social media, which is why there are all the cameras.

The team is legit and will have future big leaguers. The homerun celebration is over the top, but they are encouraged to do that for clicks.

Is a YouTube channel. The players are flown in from all over to play in tournaments and are really good and really douchey. Having the YouTube spotlight is why they overly celebrate every good play. . Sadly a lot of kids watch and try to act like them.

The kid who bats lead off for my eldest's team acts like this kid. He hit a solo shot to start one of the games from last weekend and was flexing and hollering the whole god damn time he was on the base path.

He's an only child so no the parents don't care about the behavior.

Unless that was a walk-off, I don’t understand how the ump didn’t get involved
