Athletic 12 year old the size of a 15 year old, power is not surprising. We had a few like that growing up and during my coaching days. The vast majority will have a slowed growth period around 14-15 and his friends he towered over will catch up and probably pass him. Of course, you can’t hold that against him, but you can hold his attitude against his parents.

We have made sports into behemoth part of our society and it’s a mess (and I have a son playing college football).
It’s a mess at all levels and stakeholders. Those coaches seal the deal. The parents likely having orgasms over video.
