Just ordered this one to be delivered Monday. Price and reviews seemed to be pretty good. Went with no electronics and a brand with a decent rep. Thanks everyone.

Consumer Reports had an issue last year with results of a survey on frequency of repair for major appliance brands.
Some seldom broke, but that did not mean they were the best. Speed Queen was an example of a very hardy machine that was not the greatest at cleaning.
You may want to track down that issue at the library, or online if you have a subscription.

You could venture to Facebook marketplace and see if there are any relatively new ones for sale. Could be from a couple moving in together and have no need for 2 of them.

whirlpool inside pass
See about ordering from here. Not sure about how the 'memberships' work. They were part of a previous employers 'total compensation' and I usually buy through the website. Might be able to just sign up.
Basically, they are the front for the distribution warehouse. Pay a little extra for delivery or go pick it up. Port Allen for BR and NOLA is in Elmwood I believe.
Prices are pretty much what a Lowes/HD special deal would be.
For reference the washer someone posted above is 549 from Best Buy and 529 from the inside pass website.

Maytag Bravos is worst washing machine we ever owned. We gave it away after 4 months.
HE wash doesn’t rinse properly.
Detergent left on clothes
Clothes horribly wrinkled

I've had a Maytag dryer for over 20 years without a single problem. The washer went out after about 10 though. Replaced it with a Whirlpool front loader 10 years ago. I had to replace a hot water valve a few years. Did it myself for the cost of the part.

I have two sets of SQs and they both clean and dry like MOFOS.
Both sets are 2017 year models.
Reportedly the SQs of 2018 were less remarkable.
Would buy again, mine use plenty of water, I don’t care.
They dry fast too on the High Heat setting:

Sears still has appliance and tools only stores. They have one here in Lafayette. The big problem is everything in store has to be ordered and takes two weeks to come in.

Here is what I know about Speed Queen.
I bought a TR5 in September of 2018. It didn’t work first day and the dealer had to bring another out and he did quickly. I washed clothes in it and immediately noticed they were not as clean as the clothes washed in my old machine. I washed a load of whites and a coffee stain on a t shirt did not come out in one washing. I then went to the internet and saw the Consumer Report rating and the machine was the worst rated at the time and they too said it didn’t clean clothes. I called my dealer to return it and he would not take it back. I apologized for making the purchase not knowing the reviews and offered it back to him for a $500 store credit and he still didn’t want it back. He said even though it was only two weeks old that it was used and Speed Queen would not help him out.
I called Speed Queen asking them to help him stand behind the product and they would not. They have a good warranty on parts but no guarantee on performance.
Since then the circuit board that runs it had to be replaced and the new one was acting up again. Rather than continue to use the machine and make warranty claims I bought a GE from Home Depot that had a good CR rating and it is a MUCH better machine and you can actually soak clothes in it and raise the lid!!
By the way I called the dealer that sold me the SQ and offered him the $1000 machine he sold that is only 16 months old for free if he would come haul it off. He didn’t want it.
I would much rather do business with local folks but my SQ dealer simply does not stand behind washers he sells.
I would not take a SQ from you for free after my experience. I think they have good parts and were good machines to have prior to 2018 but mine simply didn’t wash clothes very well and they would not help me with it. It is amazing how well the cheap GE does compared to the SQ I had. SQ gets a lot of mention here because they only sell through independent dealers. They screwed those dealers when they made that POS 2018 model.

If you’re in BR, go to Stantons, they carry Maytag, Whirlpool, and Speed Queen. My LG front loaders died last year & I was set on buying Speed Queen (due to this board). But Speed Queens big selling point was they still had the agitator where most brands didn’t anymore. Now they don’t (due to fed requirements or something like that) & don’t clean nearly as well as they used to. We ended up going with Maytag front loaders & are happy with them so far. Clothes get clean & smell great.
