Early 20’s when I started working full time

No, I’ve always been an insomniac.

I leaned pain was waking me up at night. If you have old injuries or arthritis, it doesn't matter pain will interrupt a good night sleep. See a pain management doc. Me,, a Gabalpenten for nerve damage and a couple of extra strength Tylenol for joint damage zzzzzzzz

In my 30s.I can only sleep 4-5 hours a night on average, and I have all sorts of terrible muscle aches, problems with eustachian tube dysfunction, etc. I need to get this squared away before something really bad happens.

THIS
Struggled with waking up at 2am for years, then couldn't turn off brain. Ambien worked for a while, been using gummies for couple years now.

For those who quit drinking because it affected their sleep, are we talking about a couple of beers a night or half a bottle of whiskey a night?

I took my alarms off last night so I could sleep later. I normally wake up at 4:25, apparently my body thinks sleeping in is waking up at 4:50.

It’s part of getting older.
I noticed it in my thirties. I could generally wake up just before my 6am alarm. Now I’m in my 50s and I don’t even need an alarm. I’m up at 4:30-5am naturally.
Learn to enjoy the quiet solitude of the morning with a cup of coffee and catch up on tigerdroppings.

I’m a 1/2 bottle guy. I’m sober now but I’m spilled more whiskey than most people have drank in my life. If I never have another drink again, I’m good. I’ve had my fill for one lifetime.
Not to keep on about age, but for me it’s all tied together. Getting older, liver can’t process alcohol like it did when I was 25. Disrupts sleep. So I wasn’t only tired, I was tired and hungover. I’m not a preacher, drink all you want. But I can assure life is better without it, especially as you get older.

I've always been a bad sleeper, but it's been worse over the last year. Always wake up around 2AM and have trouble getting back to seep. Reading seems to help sometimes.
I've been reading some lately about people haven't always slept through one continuous time period like they do now. In the days of yore, people slept in two shorter periods with a break in between. As I look at my own sleep patterns and talk to other people, I wonder if that's the way we're wired to sleep and this trying to sleep through one period makes it difficult to sleep adequately.

All I want to do is sleep until 7am god damnit.
I can't sleep past about 6am anymore but I just go to bed earlier now. It's unusual for me to be up past 9:30 during the week and 10:30 on the weekends.

I’m 48. I wake up multiple times throughout the night. Usually every 2 hours. Come 330 or 430 it’s hard to go back to sleep.
I never sleep uninterrupted through a night. Never
Edit.
I keep record and I did sleep through the entire night once this year. July. Colorado backpack over night camp. Middle of no where, 40 degrees, mountains, slept like a baby

After working 40 years shift work, I usually can sleep any time anywhere. Don’t drink. In bed for 10:30 usually and up around 7. Clear conscience and a good moral compass helps.

This is me every single day. 4:30 AM no matter what time I went to bed or if drank the night before. I attribute this to 20 years of military service and then blue collar work after the military. There are days like today I just wanted to sleep, but nope up bright and early.
My biggest problem is if I am asleep for even as little as 30 minutes if something wakes me up, I am wide awake and takes me hours to fall back asleep.

There is an age at which the need to get up and pee supersedes the desire to sleep in.

Over 40
I go to sleep fine but Started having trouble staying asleep.
Tried all the natural remedies but nothing kept me asleep. Melatonin is effective getting me to sleep but noticed some adverse effects.
Drinking definitely does not help. It actually makes it worse because of hangover.
Things that helped somewhat - cold room. No liquid an hour before. GABA supplement.
Acceptance

Same here. Shockingly as soon as I had my first child I could no longer sleep in anymore. Probably unrelated and due to getting older

what time are you going to bed?
Also, do you go to bed and get up about the exact same time each day?
If so, then you are probably getting enough sleep and your body is trained to that schedule.
I usually go to bed between 9 and midnight, then get up between 4-8.

Probably in my late 20s or so. I'm lucky if I get 6 hours in a night.
