Doesn't mean shite.

I think his motive was that he hates these cans.

The Jesus Campos storyline is interesting to me on how much power a big corporation like MGM has to control narratives.
What's hard to understand? MGM didn't want him out there running his mouth and potentially saying who knows what. I am sure they either offered him a cush job at some out of the way property in a location of his choice or just wrote him a fat check to STFU. And lets be honest, who wouldn't take that offer?
Went and Googled it. As expected:
quote:
Luis Castro said his former brother-in-law Mandalay Bay Security Officer Jesus Campos told him that MGM Resorts International (MGMRI) knew that gunman Stephen Paddock had 'suspicious amounts of luggage' and guns in his room but security 'neglected' it because of his high-roller status. He said Campos signed a non-disclosure agreement with MGMRI. Campos received an all-expenses-paid trip and 'gifted' two condos where he could reside, Castro claims. MGMRI hid Campos under guard at the Vdara Hotel and Spa after the October 1, 2017 Las Vegas Massacre for protection where his room and meals were provided, Castro said.
Dude sold out for two condos. I would take that deal.

Does virginia tech have any memorials, etc. up in relation to their mass killing that occurred there? I'm most certain its not mentioned to high school seniors on their college tour trips
Yes. They have a large wall type thing with names... Right on a quad area in campus. Pretty moving

You know what they say, what happens in Vegas...

Did they ever identify any specifics on what his holdings were and who his associates were? "Real estate investments" is an easy means to set up a money front.

CIA gun deal gone bad. Right. Because the CIA has no better place, in a state that is 90% abandoned desert, to do a secret gun deal. Yep, they are going to tote a couple dozen rifles (ones you can buy at a sporting good store) up to a hotel suite to sell them. That must be it!

I get that part. However, they still eagerly paraded him on Ellen with some softball questions and some additional local events (non-speaking) to be the MGM “Hero Mascot” from the event.
They thrusted him in the spotlight when they thought it would help their image and then hypocritically used the “traumatic experience - respect his privacy line” when others asked to follow-up. Local media gave this all a pass.

This disappeared much quicker than Sandy Hook, the Aurora theater shooting, the Parkland school shooting, and many others. That makes no sense based on how many people lost their lives, and the fact that it was a new type of mass shooting.
A country concert full of gun-loving rednecks who, some would say, got exactly what they advocate for via NRA memberships, their votes, and their lifestyles.
I don't agree with that assessment, personally, but I can tell you that it didn't elicit near the same empathetic response as a bunch of kids in a classroom.

Pretty sure this was a distraction designed to pull attention off an attempted assassination of a Saudi prince in a nearby casino
There were several princes killed in that time frame throughout the middle east. The CIA was cleaning house

I know most news outlets said he was an ‘estranged’ brother - but sometimes I think it had something to do with his brother that was picked up for child pornography not too long after

It’s hard to believe an unhinged crazy frick had such an elaborate plan. If you’re that crazy, why not just walk into the hotel/casino with hundreds of people and start unloading?
There’s more to this story.
There are plenty examples of people with intention to kill as many as possible that have pretty well thought out plans.
You can be crazy and still calm/collected, which is pretty scary but I think the case here.
I truly think he just hated the world, had a break of some sort, and wanted to destroy a bunch of lives on his way out. I also think the city of Las Vegas just pays millions to bury this as best they can for PR reasons.

It is amazing that we never even got a D-Level Documentary on Netflix about the event.
Even one of those 48 minute versions where they show the same handful of clips six or seven times.
I am guessing no one has been able to secure the rights to enough footage (I would not be surprised if MGM went and bought up all the rights with a “dummy” company immediately after to prevent the exact type of thing) to put together anything that would be visually captivating and not just all interviews.
Imagine how many smartphones were there filming during the concert and immediately after. Seems a lot of those videos have disappeared forever. That alone would be an interesting lead to explore.

Here is the video of him making several trips over several days, to his room, each time with a good bit of luggage. Its pretty crazy.

It was all a very simple misunderstanding

It’s hard for people to grasp that there isn’t always an answer, or a reason. Sometimes people commit senseless acts. Happens all the time.
People have some reason even when they commit senseless acts. From the information out there, this (relatively) normal guy just stockpiled assault weapons and coldly went to town on a bunch of strangers at a country concert.
This wasn’t politically, religiously, racially, or sexual orientation motivated, nor was it a personal vendetta or random fit of rage. There wasn’t some manifesto or social media posts (that we know of) that detailed his plans, so he likely wasn’t doing it for notoriety or attention.
Throw on top that this has been buried and minimized basically since day 1 and something doesn’t add up. The only people with power to silence media is the federal government. Likely an intelligence agency.
