Abundance of caution. I’m not upset he was arrested. If a mother comes to a police officer claiming a man tried to kidnap her child, I want the man detained and investigated.
How he was detained for any longer than it took to review the surveillance footage and that they have actually brought charges against him is ridiculous and criminal in my opinion.
I hope he sues and takes them to the cleaners.

No. I want the cops to investigate. The security footage should be reviewed in a matter of hours, as well as on site interviews of witnesses and he should have been released and the woman fave some kind of penalties.

literally every person in the area showed up at his bond hearing to attest to what a good guy he is and how fricked up it is he's was thrown in jail for 6 weeks.
reminds me of the Duke lacross players and that fricking scumbag DA.

Seems pretty obvious to me what happened and it’s pathetic both the police and DA let this progress at all much less to this ridiculous extent and even worse still be going.
The cops were lazy in their investigation. The prosecutor didn't bother to get his ducks in a row and backstop a lazy investigation. The judge did judge things and let himself be an ally of the state (prosecutor) and didn't put him in check.
And they won't stop now because none of those 3 will ever admit it. To do justice now means they have to admit mistakes or their own culpability. It will never happen.
ETA: and Patel made the classic mistake that gave the cops/prosecutor the roadmap to do this... he cooperated and answered the cops questions. Don't talk to cops. If you are a hammer everything is a nail. As soon as he admitted he leaned in and made contact with the child he goose was cooked (with the cops). They didn't care why, they had their nail.

Just watched these videos. When the DA shows the assault and attempted kidnapping, it is unbelievable to me that he believes he is watching a kidnapping. I hope that DA gets colon cancer soon; what a pile of shite.

Duh. The state that is prosecuting and their agents who are acting recklessly with his life by burying him in a legal mess over what was an obviously harmless misunderstanding.
They are painting this guy to be a predator when anyone with a brain who watches those videos, including his big smoking gun still frame, comes away thinking the state is being represented by a complete set of retards.
The DA asked for drug screening and check ins while he awaits trial after trying to deny him bond. The whole system needs to be blown up at this point—we’ve lost the plot with this nation of laws. Hope this guy gets paid and that DA learns several very hard life lessons. What a pile of shite
