Why does it matter if they had alcohol there? They were being supervised by people over the age of 21 they were not doing anything illegal.
Contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Pretty sure its legal for a parent to let their own teenager drink at home under their supervision, but its definitely not legal to allow a bunch of other kids drink under your supervision.

Not to mention all the civil liability you put yourself at risk for a wide variety of thing that could happen with a house full of minors drinking

I think an interesting angle here (no matter what you think of the entire situation or who you support) is the danger with posting anything and everything on social media. None of this would likely be going down if that video was never posted in the first place.

Underage Drinking in Louisiana
All American states must abide by the National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984. This sets out that no person under the age of 21 years will be allowed to drink or possess alcohol.

Louisiana law sets out that this will apply other than in the case of limited exceptions. These exceptions include the following:

Where the person is accompanied by a parent, guardian, or spouse that is over 21.
Where the person must handle alcohol as part of their job, such as in a restaurant.
Where the person consumes alcohol in a private residence.
Where the person consumes alcohol as part of a religious celebration.

In a residence or on the property where the residence is located up to like 15 or 20 acres in size.

Been a while since I have read the statute, but it also address kids drinking outside on their properties.

Did every kid drinking have a parent or legal guardian there (country club or home or whatever it was)?

Mom mentioned something about the kids bringing money to help pay for renting out the location and help with other expenses.

I mean…what if she is lying?

I think there are ulterior motives for several of the adults here jumping in like teenagers based on the words on a teenager. Moms and teenagers are usually the only ones so quick to jump on teenage drama. Besides the ones who like to jump on religion anywhere possible & never wait on actual facts due to their own bigotry others have to be connected somehow to the girl or maybe were told mean things by the principal or even once enjoyed getting paddled by him too much.

All of it may be true, but investigation happening and rational people should let that play out first.

Many in this thread of doing what they scorn when others act in a similar manner or start trying to cancel on social media.

What’s next riot before facts come out? Kavanaugh the principal in social media and media?

Also, The mom and daughter could also sign off on allowing the district and school to Communicate to public anything involved or surrounding the issues involving the student that they have alleged which would stop district from using student privacy as a shield (or student & mom using the district being restricted from speaking on certain matters).

There were so many opportunists to approach this situation differently. Regardless of your viewpoint I think we all agree the principal did not handle this situation correctly. Time for the school board to step in and act accordingly.

Supposedly, the decision to strip the scholarship wasn't made by WHS. More to the story.....

The issue at WHS was forcing the religious message.

Some of the business interests that have been attracted to the school?

Maybe the religious component was a poor effort to hide the true reason?

Yeah.
This isn’t about what the state did under this unconstitutional act.
Or what any parents did.
Or what any of the other kids drank.
Or how another kid was dancing.
Or even what this girl did.
It is about this principal imposing his religious views on kids well outside the school or his jurisdiction, and his punitive manner in doing so.
The guy will be sued and should be fired.
