I don't think this is any of the school's business but can we all agree that twerking is one of the dumbest trends in recent memory? It's up there with the saggy pants

Call me trashy, but if done by a grown woman, with the right body type and rhythm, it can be a glorious experience. Especially when during the act of coitus.

A message from Jason St. Pierre, Principal of Walker High Livingston Parish Public Schools

Good afternoon WHS Family,

I believe it is necessary to respond to the public attention that has resulted from my actions regarding Kaylee Timonet’s participation in a dance party that was sponsored at an off-site location following WHS Homecoming.

I have had time to consider my actions, have conversations with the Timonets, and meet with district staff.

First, let me say that I have apologized to the Timonets and I am hopeful that my scheduled meeting with Kaylee’s mom will rectify this situation and allow Kaylee to enjoy the remainder of her senior year at Walker High School.

I will be reinstating Kaylee’s position on the Student Government Association. The SGA was created to give students a voice in their school and their community, to promote leadership qualities, and to represent their school with pride, enthusiasm, and respect. Our student government members are held to a high standard of student behavior. While I stand by that premise, I do believe that standard deserves the input of not just myself and top administrators, but also those student leaders. I hope to create a path moving forward where we can work together to create clear expectations for all.

I will be reinstating my scholarship endorsement for Kaylee. At Walker High, we strive to place our students first in every decision so they may be prepared for whatever career path they may aspire to take, and I believe my action will assist in doing that.

Finally, during my conversation with Kaylee regarding the dance party, the subject of religious beliefs was broached by Kaylee and myself. While that conversation was meant with the best intentions, I do understand it is not my responsibility to determine what students’ or others’ religious beliefs may be – that should be the responsibility of the individual

As principal of Walker High School, I am faced daily with many difficult decisions for the interest of our students and employees that are never taken lightly. Please know that I always strive to place our students first in every decision. It is for that reason that I have taken this corrective action.

As we move forward, I ask for your continued support of Walker High School, our amazing teachers, and outstanding students.

Thank you,

Jason St. Pierre, Principal
Walker High School

So... does he even get to communicate something like this if there's even still a chance he's gone? Cased closed now I guess and he's in the clear?

he actually says that “students should have input” in the “high [religious] standard” he’s holding them to.

So his opinion is still that she should be removed, but wants to save his arse and make a deal

For those that don’t feel like reading all of that, he basically said he’s a retard and is reinstating everything. I don’t expect him to hold that position much longer. He’s done.

The problem is... it took a media blitz to fix a stupid decision. If the mom had stayed quiet that girl would have been punished for a dude's ego.

He surrendered faster than the French Army in 1940!

I think he (and the LP School Board) didn't expect the nationwide response to his actions. He lost his top cover and had no other choice.

He needs to go, the sooner the better.

Dude deserves to be fired. What a scum bag! Bet this isn't his first time abusing a student.

Without a doubt, LP is thinking this should put out the fire, but I think it's just beginning with a couple of reporters thinking they can make a name for themselves digging deep into this.

I am sure he will end up in a cushy board job if nothing else. There were local stories years ago about Walker's elementary principal Bonnie Cox and her power trips. She ended up at the school board eventually.

This is a legit question as I'm not sure the status of Walker High School these days. Has he done a decent job before this incident? What did people think of him before this fateful decision?

So he admitted in writing that the basis for his decision was rooted in his religious beliefs?

Bold strategy cotton.

I guess it depends who you ask (and I am sure more will come out), but as far as I am aware, he is pretty well regarded as being an innovative principal. He's made deals with autobody shops, cookie shops, papa john's, coffee shops, etc that are all run by students inside the school. They also have other curriculums for things like crime forensics and real estate for those that know they will not attend college but would like to do something worthwhile.

I mentioned before, but he did publicly embarrass some kid at my daughter's freshman orientation for speaking while he was.

The school has improved by many measurements, but from what you hear as people respond to this he is pretty much a tyrant and abuses his power regularly.

If that makes it a better school and the cost of those that he abuses is worth then, keep him around.
