That building is very feng shui with the old part of campus.

I'd buy it.

they could not have picked a worse time to try and unload a massive, taste-specific office building

Come on, people. Canes didn’t move their headquarters to Dallas. They just moved all of their operations. They still have an office here so they can claim Baton Rouge. At least that’s what they said.

I have it on good authority that all they have here (in the IBM building) is marketing

Another one bites the dust.

Just realized that the Shed BBQ closed down too. That’s one of my favorite places. The one in Ocean Springs.

The walk-ons here in Tampa has really gone downhill over the last year or so- subpar food (imported shrimp, crawfish, etc), limited menu, and less than great service. Wonder if that’s a trend across the board and maybe they’re adjusting to reduced demand?

Why would they not come to Collin County, Texas? Foolish to not do that.

Can’t wait to see how Business Report tries to spin its beloved Walk On’s leaving this town.

The have resorted to serving foreign shrimp.
It wasn’t too long ago that they touted the fact that they were serving GOM shrimp. It’s noticeable too.

Its a mid tier regional chain restaurant, lets pump the breaks on needing to attract outside talent

An ex of mine did marketing for them and was making 105k salary. Not terrible for a mid tier regional chain

They had less than 50 locations in 2021 and were planning to open 25 new stores the following year. 50% increase. Obviously they made some bad decisions because the Pensacola location didn't last 12 months. When they raced to open more restaurants the standards started to go down the last couple years.

Any quality control that was left went completely out the window once Brandon Landry left the building. The replacement CEO (who was gone after 6 months) was trying to turn the place even more into something like a Applebee's.

Doesn't make any sense to keep a corporate HQ in Baton Rouge as it is hard attracting talent to move to Baton Rouge.

Yep.
Once you get to a certain size and want/need real talent for a restaurant chain, you have to be willing to open an office in a better state.

Quit coping, it's a terrible place to live and it'sa company that wants to grow. Most of the graduates who are qualified in management move anyway. Decades of poor leadership and terrible voting habits have consequences.

According to that floor plan, the HQ is mostly a mock restaurant, basketball court, gym and games area with like 4 offices and conference rooms. Tremendously wasteful.

Yeah, always gave me Entertainment 720 vibes. Just needed Detlef Schrempf on retainer.

It’s a restaurant, not Space X.
