They saw Jeff Landry's plan...oh wait he doesn't have one.
Maybe Jeff can put in a prison there since that's all he's worried about now. His pockets will grow even fatter.

I saw this coming. I am a recruiter and used to have a contract with them to hire upper management. It was very hard to find people who weren't Louisiana natives willing to live in Baton Rouge. I know it's just "a restaurant" and I'll get a bunch of other whataboutisms that is typical for Louisianans that cope about the state but it's 100% true. Ask anyone involved in the economic development process and they'll tell you the same thing.

Thank God for the last 8 years of JBE and all of his economic development or we'd really be in a bad spot

Would you want to move your family to BR if you had no other ties to LA?

Sure, but are you telling me a company based off of selling Louisiana food is better off in another state?
Atlanta also likely has a LOT higher cost of living. $150,000 salary goes a lot further in BR then it does in ATL, and you should be saving money in BR on some employees allowing you to pay MORE for your employees that you need the outside talent.
In other words, it seems like a poor model to move to ATL and pay the same. So if the suggestion is, no you have to pay more in ATL then hell maybe you should have payed more in BR to start?

Old Co-op is actually where the north gate development is (venue, BWW, CVS)
That spot is the new old co-op

IKR. Louisiana made such great economic progress over the last 8 years vs. every other state in our region

Yes, it is. It's not that difficult to learn how to cook Cajun food and I'm sure they'll still have a presence here, just not the headquarters.
Training is usually the biggest expense for a business that is growing or relocating so a company can actually come out ahead in a high cost yet large highly educated area.
Louisiana has to realize, economic development isn't just about costs and taxes. It's also about the quality of life and education/workplace development.
Defunding education/workforce development, infrastructure, or law enforcement is almost just as bad as raising taxes in an economic development POV.

I doubt there’s much difference in the cost of living from Baton Rouge to Atlanta. Baton Rouge is a pretty expensive shite hole.

If the link doesn't work, does that mean they're not moving?? Kind of like if a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it, did it make noise?

Born and raised in this state and still wouldn’t live in BR.

yeah talked to him a few times and they mentioned that issue a lot, though I thought they were going to head to Texas.
Our fricked up school system is a huge deterrent, though no one in BR seems to care. The private school system is so engrained into the culture here most are content to just let the public school system rot, more concerned about the "status symbol" of which private school your kid goes to....but its arse backwards to the rest of the country

According to that floor plan, the HQ is mostly a mock restaurant, basketball court, gym and games area with like 4 offices and conference rooms. Tremendously wasteful.
unless someone wants to create walk-on's 2.0, they are not going to be able to sell the building in its current configuration. It is very nice, but catered to one client only.

They were looking at office space in Addison, Irving, and the Woodlands about a year ago.

100%. Louisiana's number 1 enemy are stupid Louisiana voters. A lot of Louisiana's issues would be solved by making personal finance/economics classes mandatory but a lot of our politicians would lose their jobs if that happened.
