That's fun until I get to my US Senator and find that there are 24 fricking choices.
My US Representative race only has 6 at least, same as my Metro Council district.
12 people running for Mayor.
I just made sure to avoid voting for David Duke.

If you truly think you understand the local government issues and exactly how each thing you vote for actually impacts you, then
. My wife works for a local government.......they don't even know what the stuff actually entails and they are the ones that put the stuff out there for the election. Maybe it's just my first time voting in a bigger city. But there is stuff regarding bond allocations for parks in places I've never heard of. In regards to the school district, I think that's very important. But I have no idea about the people actually running. A snippet in the paper isn't really going to tell me about the person. I grew up in an area where you probably knew who the person running was and had a decent idea of their history.
I'm all for not voting for things I don't know anything about. And I'd like to know about everything. But some of this stuff is just out of my wheel house.

its just sad, especially when you hear democrats say things like stocks and real estate are at all time highs, yet they dont seem to understand its inversely related to the concept that obama and yellen have kept rates at obscenely low levels. If we keep the status quo, those of us with assets are fine we're going to make alot of money which is great, but Im more worried about kids who are 5 years old today coming out and having starter homes be $400k in the suburbs of houston if we keep this up for another decade. These low rates are forcing people into risky investments in search of yields and its a disaster waiting to happen but obama is smart, he knows that now when rates normalize under whoever does it, people will look back and say how much better the economy was under obama albeit a complete facade.

99% of people have a certain moral standard they hold themselves to. Vote your moral standard and you will be fine. Read the layman's terms of the amendments and make a choice based on your initial gut feeling. Don't get into analysis paralysis on these things. You can always over analyze to read too much into them.
