Voting: Am I a completely uninformed idiot? Are most people?

Yes is the short answer I guess. But I can't imagine very many people actually do know or care about most of the stuff.
Plan to go do early voting today since I'm off. I just looked up the ballot to see everything I'd be voting for. I honestly have never heard of half of the crap, nor do I really care. I'm pretty much voting for president and 3 or 4 local positions. There are elections for the community college board, the school district, bond maintenance tax proposals, blah blah blah. There is like 50 things on the sample ballot. I've not got the time to understand all of that and actually have an opinion.
Figured this wasn't really Poli Board material exactly

At least you took the time to actually look at everything.

I'll help you out. If you see the words "millage" or "renewal", especially together, you don't want it.

Yea because they just released them today...
You seem uniformed but it also seems that your ignorance is due in part to laziness. Study, read, and prepare yourself more than a day in advance.

The thing is, you're voting for trump or hillary, if you vote hillary you're voting to continue the status quo of a corrupt government, I mean good lord, look at this trainwreck now of classified emails on home computers. If you vote for trump, you're voting to purge this trainwreck of corruption. The whole economy is a facade, low interest rates have pushed stocks and real estate to all time highs, trump will end that, thats not a bad thing, everything is artificially inflated and needs to go back to normal. Trump will end shipping our jobs off so companies can profit, he's said he will slap new taxes on companies like ford that wanna build cars in mexico. Don't listen to the media, their only objective is democrat bc democrat means open borders which means more anchor babies and unskilled immigrants pouring over. The immigrants with education and skills can come over easily with visas, we have enough unskilled americans here.
Trump is a vote to purge america from the wasteful and corrupt status quo, if you vote hillary, you get whats coming bc an indictment is clearly near, the FBI re-opened this for a reason and her top aide Huma Abedin just vanished now. It's truly a shame anyone would vote hillary at this point, Trump is nothing like the past republicans, he's not all about religion, which I personally think religion is silly anyhow. Trump is a different breed of politician and our first chance in a long time to end government corruption

*are
And you don't have to vote for them, you could always abstain and leave them blank.

It makes me laugh when people (my wife included) ignore all this local stuff, which is actually more likely to have a direct impact on you than the federal positions.
Bond maintenance and local tax laws will likely impact your pocketbook more than Hillary or Donald will.

If voting for Hillary, then yes, you are....

Our votes aren't worth enough to make up for the time needed to stay update with all the issues/candidates. Just another sad reality about our system

Some of the local papers will put out a human translation on the lawyer speak of the amendments. I go look that up before voting. I also put together a list for letting my wife know how to vote. She's told me in the past that she'd just push buttons otherwise. Didn't marry her for her politics.

You took the time to look at it so you are not completely uninformed, but as for as whether or not most people are. Yes. So that means we depend on a bunch of idiots to decide who will run shite.

For these i usually google and judge them based on their picture on the internet. Some people look less sleazy than the others. Those are the ones i pick.

The lady behind me in the early-voting line asked why there were two names next to the presidential candidates. So you're one step ahead.
Some people vote "No" across the board on amendments/bond issues/taxes/etc., but I wonder if there are a similar number of people who just vote "Yes" to everything.

Google "Sample Ballot" then fill in your address.
it will pull all of the elections you will be voting for and provide candidate information.
I looked at some of the "third party" candidates for President and was shocked to find one for:
Princess Jacob of the Loyal Trustworthy Compassion Party. Curious, I clicked the arrow by her name and the tool gave me her website where it appears she is a BLM Radicalist
Lots of great information in that google tool

most people only vote for the POTUS
most can't even tell you their Congressman
most also just vote the "R" or the "D" and no to all new taxes

I'm just going to vote all "D" for candidates and "YES" to amendments.
