Find the money elsewhere
Some districts have the money others don't. Some districts will raid their rainy day fund so their teachers don't take a pay cut., other districts will cut programs.

Now, some school district leaders are trying to scrounge up local funds to fill the gap. It’s possible that some districts will give teachers pay boosts to make up for any lost state funds, while others cannot – widening the already large pay gaps between educators in different parishes.
In Vermillion Parish, schools Superintendent Thomas Byler said he asked his finance department Monday to calculate how much it would cost to cover the $2,000 stipends for teachers and $1,000 for support staff that the Legislature provided this school year. The estimate was $2.3 million, an amount the rural district could only afford by tapping its budget reserves, Byler said.

Why is there another vote next month? We just had a vote this month.

The government wastes our money on a level I can't even fully comprehend. I'm not ever voting to give them more.

The good and best teachers will achieve.
I love that in theory, in practice cheating will be rampant by teachers knowing that their students can't make the grades they need.

Uh…no. They are not a parent. They are a teacher.

ITEP exemptions go to international corporations that make billions, not citizens. We land owners pay all of the property tax owed on the value of our property. Why shouldn’t they?

Superintendent makes about $220,000,
The superintendent makes about 150k which is an embarrassment for someone who supervises 4k employees 40 something schools and 27k kids.
As far as CO being over staffed it is one of the leanest and comparatively under paid districts in the state. And that is with typically top 10 test results. And top 3 if you compare like size districts.

Take away the requirements of SPED, testing, counseling and let the schools put problem kids out of school and you probably could get away with less admin. The fact is most of this is required or the requirements cause a need for the job.

When I was in grade school and junior high, we had 1 principal and limited office staff.
Yes, we had one principal, a secretary, a nurse, and a janitor. Principal had a paddle and didn't have to call home to use it. All the other staff were teachers and cafeteria workers.

I fully support you paying less in property tax.

The national average pay for a Superintendent is roughly $156,000.
New Orleans = $336,000
Lafayette = $300,000
Monroe = $206,000 (w/ guaranteed increase)
$150,000 is acceptable for a National average

Cool story bro. You clearly have never heard of IEP, 504, ILT, SLT, PLC, OCR, MDR.
Those didn’t exist in that time.

Your response is proof of just how broken our education system is right now.
Students are merely pawns in the game. Their educational experience is way down the list of priorities if a priority at all.
It’s all about the administrators.
Kids can be educated 10 times better than what they’re getting now in a neighborhood one room school house with books, pencil, and paper.
But as it stands, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that AI education will become a real thing and put an end to government-controlled government- mandated education.
I’m not advocating it, but having absolutely nothing would be better than what we’re getting now
