Are you actually claiming that this guy didnt know? Really?

No, I am sure he knew. My concern is that cases like this help grow law enforcement that further infringes on other completely law abiding citizens.

I think the kicker here is that he gave them shelter and a place to stay/sleep.

If he had just given them food and water and let them be on their way, it'd be a different story.

Agree with this. Also, if I were inclined to do something like this, I'd just let the rations and water "fall off the back of my truck" at a regular location. No need to hand them out personally.

eh, as much as I am against illegal immigration, I really don't feel good about someone being attested for helping someone else not starve to

Also are now reqired to ask for ID before helping someone?

Bad move.

What are you talking about?

This situation has no bearing on that at all.

Harboring is already an illegal act. This isn’t a creation of some new law. This is enforcement of a law already on the books.

Do you see the difference between renting an apartment in Chicago to a Hispanic family and letting three random guys crash in your barn just across the border from Mexico?

One just got here and the other has been here for a while? They are all illegal, I think you'd agree.

Maybe they should, you know, prevent them from crossing in the first place

Wait. What? How does enforcing a clear cut law infringe on other citizens? If we stop arresting murderers, does that really help out the non-murderers?

I'm no fan of illegal immigration, but I don't believe desperate people should be left to die in the desert if I can do something to stop it.

That is a charge I would take

The responses on this board are pathetic, most of y’all probably those fat frick old ppl sitting on ur dead yard in front of ur 100k prarieville shitholes talking about how much better things were.

These ppl were given no advantages in life and are risking it all for betterment, if they’re literally dying of thurst they don’t deserve a fricking electric chair. There are bad apples everywhere, look at every fricking school shooter, those kids aren’t pos they are just misguided right?

A lot of Mexican ppl work terrible jobs up here yet they show up with their lunch pail and never complain. They also do the job correctly and efficiently, they’re not fricking murders and rapists like all u damn poly board keyboard snowflakes constantly spew.

One that from what I have seen and read is not often enforced(I could be wrong). Would you support the growth of law enforcement so that they can enforce every law on the books all the time?

FWIW. There are multiple groups, including the Catholic Church, that maintain water stations along the border area. The government is well aware and does not pursue these folks because they are providing basic humanitarian assistance. That isn’t AT ALL what happened in this case. This guy let the illegals stay three days at his place, knowing full well they were here illegally, and provided them substantial aid. He has done it enough that his place is well known to persons crossing the border. How does the government not do something about that? For all practical matters, his open providing of assistance is encouraging them to cross.

Would you support the immediate round up of every illegal immigtant and their families, and then charge every person that has ever given them housing, clothing, food or water? The support those people gave were vital to the existence of these illegals in our country, and directly contributed to the ongoing immigration problem.

Harboring is enforced on those who harbor criminals.

Are you saying we don’t ever enforce that?

I am sure that it gets enforced everyday and that only the guilty will ever be charged and convicted. Scruffy is correct, I should have thought of that sooner.

I used to have to go down to Mexicali to visit a Honeywell plant down there. Complete shithole in every sense of the trump word.

However, coming back at night you would see the INS have illegals on their knees on side of the road in zip tie handcuffs ready to be taken back to Mexico. I spoke to one of these INS guys once who said it was pretty typical for a family including little kids to try to cross the desert in 120 degree heat with a 2 liter bottle of pepsi for liquid. Carbonated beverages are not good for hydration and these people die routinely. its brutal.

I dont know why you would arrest someone trying to prevent human tragedy regardless of whether the people are coming illegally or not.

Are you arguing that we shouldn’t enforce laws because innocent people may get charged accidentally?

Does that apply to all laws?

Or they could have brought some damn food and water with them. A lot of those idiots try to cross the border, illegally, with nothing. How stupid can one be?

Exactly. They should’ve gone to Target and loaded their SUV with snacks and drinks first. Maybe download a few movies for the kid’s iPads.

At the very least, they could have gone to the local public library on their lunch break and used a computer to Google the proper way to immigrate.

Yeah, I don't have any problem with this. I don't think they should throw the book at this guy or anything but putting them up for multiple nights is a bridge too far.
