Are you arguing that we shouldn’t enforce laws because innocent people may get charged accidentally?
Does that apply to all laws?
To honestly answer your question, yes in this case it looks like he was charged appropriately under the law. However, it seems that something like "harboring" is vague enough that it could be very easily abused if someone in power wanted to.
I feel like this would be a wealth of previosuly unprosecuted cases that could be prosecuted if someone pushed the right policy. I for one like to actually keep our govt small, so thats my concern. Prosecutorial discretion exists for good reasons.

This is the most miserable place I've ever been in my life.

Diaz denied that Warren was targeted. "This was not a targeted action, this arrest happened in the process of enforcing immigration laws of the United States," he said.
There has to be something more to this story. These places are typically well known to BP and have been operating for years.

These ppl were given no advantages in life and are risking it all for betterment, if they’re literally dying of thurst they don’t deserve a fricking electric chair. There are bad apples everywhere, look at every fricking school shooter, those kids aren’t pos they are just misguided right?
A lot of Mexican ppl work terrible jobs up here yet they show up with their lunch pail and never complain. They also do the job correctly and efficiently, they’re not fricking murders and rapists like all u damn poly board keyboard snowflakes constantly spew.
I get it. These aren't all bad people and they've been dealt a shitty hand. This doesn't, however, give them the right to come here illegally and disregard our national sovereignty.

Glad he was arrested for breaking the law. If you are worried about thier health, call border protection or the police.

How is shooting him any better?
it ain't, my point was just that i wouldn't let anybody starve if i have a surplus of food.

How was he harboring them? They stayed in the Barn as long as they wanted. He didn't hold them there or hide them. He didn't transport them. He just offered them food/water and a place to stay if they wanted it.
We've got illegal immigrants all over the place on work crews, building houses, putting on roofs, working in fields, and cleaning houses. We're going to arrest anyone who knows them, ever gives them anything to eat, ever allows them to stay anywhere? Is this for real?
And some of you people are defending this?

I'm no fan of illegal immigration, but I don't believe desperate people should be left to die in the desert if I can do something to stop it.
Wait so this guys is known to house illegal immigrants for days... so much so they seek his barn out... and stay for days.
Nothing to do with starvation - aiding and abetting

Of course it doesn't. But like I said earlier,we should make it easier for the ones who have no criminal past and who will contribute to society to get in legally.
Maybe we can work out a trade and dump off some lazy unemployed bums.

Meh, as much as I am against illegal immigration, I really don't feel good about someone being attested for helping someone else not starve to death.

Uh that is pretty much the definition of harboring... to give home or shelter to.

Yes he offers to harbor them for as long as they want.

If people are setting up harbors for illegals to such an extent that it is known and searched for by the illegals and provides them the 'best' way to break our laws... yes we should.

I was going to ask you the same. Some of you are acting like he is helping someone on their deathbed and being prosecuted for it. No, he has set up an operation to aid and abet. The illegals seek it out and stay for days. It really is pretty simple.

Agreed, but that disqualifies those that flippantly disobey the law. There are 15 million folks in line through various visa arrangements. Prioritize them and punish those who are breaking the law and those who facilitate the breaking of the law like this guy.

Trump 5-D chess. The liberals and GOPe whiny cucks can meet in the middle and AGREE that a border wall is needed for the health and safety of all the wandering Mexicans. Wouldn't want them to be able to cross into our harsh unforgiving lands so nonchalantly.

No. This man actively created a location that is involved in the movement of illegals into the USA against our current laws.

Sure. Like someone on the border told me: Mexico is just like any other neighbor - come through my gate, no problem, but if you climb over my fence, we have a problem.
We've been trained to think that we need to take these people in and that it's our duty to do so. If anyone disagrees with that, then they're a horrible person. The US is always made out to be the bad guy when they want to enforce their immigration laws yet no one ever focuses on the shitty, corrupt, and inept Mexican government that fricks over their own people and uses us as their economic relief valve. When the Mexican president is pissed off that we want to build a wall, that should tell you everything you need to know.

So being a decent human being and feeding some hungry people can get you locked up?
This world fricking sucks.

This is kind of a double edged sword. This area is the absolute definition of desolate. I've spent some time there and it's a harsh place. I think this guy was carrying out what he thought was a humanitarian missions (which it is), but these illegals obviously knew to use it as a checkpoint to resupply and rest up until they make it to their pick up point. It's definitely a grey area.

Yeah that's what it sounded like to me. I don't think he was organized with anyone and knew the inner workings of the pick ups and stuff, but he knew who he was helping.

As others have said, I don't think this is what got him in trouble. Numerous charity organizations do that without a problem. It was putting them up at night and allowing his home to become a known stopover point.

No, but letting it be known you are a harboring agent for illegal immigrants to such an extent that they search you out and you harboring them for as long as they want to be there - that can get you locked up.
