I originally leaned Doors because of skyscrapers and other big buildings. But I got to thinking that those buildings contain a ton of rolling chairs, carts, etc. So now I vote wheels

The post debate brawl is scheduled for 9:00pm Central Time at Sonic

All I know is you can't buy either one of them right now.

Wheels.

I see we voted the same, but if you still want an arse kicking at Sonic, let me know.

I’d think wheels and it’s likely not even close.

Between cars, bikes, toy cars, strollers, wagons, and lawn care equipment I alone probably have more wheels than there are doors on my whole block.

Assuming that everything in the world that is mechanical with gears is considered to have wheels, Ill go with wheels.

If this hypothetical is strictly wheels used to move something, itll be a little closer imo.

With all that said, I have no fricking clue.

I think it depends on what you count as a door.

How many cabinet doors do you have?

That’s a good point. That makes it closer for sure. I’m still going to go with wheels though.

door (dôr) n. 1. a. A movable structure used to close off an entrance, typically consisting of a panel that swings on hinges or that slides or rotates

If we can consider the hinges to be a wheel, this thread is over.

So... not necessarily an entrance for a person?

My printer has like 6 doors on it.

Let's think about an average car, 4 wheels plus a spare. Average of less than 4 doors, but there is a glove box door, gas filler door. How about the trunk? Tailgate? Hood? Are these doors? Is the steering wheel a wheel? Flywheel?

Wheels and idk that its particularly close.. consider the following:

Ball bearings are essentially wheels

Lego is the largest tire manufacturer in the world

Gears are toothed wheels

If ball bearings go in the wheels column then I'm counting valves as doors.

Likewise if gears are wheels then zippers are doors.

My kitchen has a lot of cabinet doors, oven, dishwasher, fridge. Bathroom has a lot of doors too; cabinets, closets, shower...

But there are lots of wheels too. Not sure I'm willing to debate it, but it's an interesting question.

Feet are metaphorical wheels so add another 15.8 billion to the total. And billons upon billions more if you count animals. I'm sure somebody's said "look at the wheels on that goat/horse/dog/cat, etc..." so animals have to be considered.

But opportunity knocks on doors and there are a countless number of opportunities with doors to be opened so I'm going with doors easy.

I think an internal disc (i.e. butterfly valve) should count as a door for sure... needle valve is debatable imo

I dont think a zipper is a door, more of a closure device (think tent)

But gears and sprockets are most certainly wheels

Mouths are hinged doors, eyelids are sliding doors, and buttholes are futuristic space ship portal doors, so humans have more doors than wheels and many animals cancel out.

Ah shite I forgot about insects.

So tents don't have doors?
