Some bad collateral damage risk there. Confronting a dangerous suspect at a store parking lot full of patrons. Add to the fact that other officers were in the line of fire. Not saying this guy didn't deserve to be taken out, but there are safer ways to do it than this.

And you'd be bitching if they did this at his house

In public.

That's safer for the public than at a busy convenience store.

Then you'd be saying "What would you do if someone busted in your home?" just like you justified him pulling the gun on the dog

Just admit that there's no situation where the cops could've done this to your impossible standards

That Malinois was on top of him in no time and putting it on him pretty good ....

Pull a gun on a police officer, human or canine, and they will shoot you. Literally all he needed to do to be alive today was follow their instructions. Even if you're wanted for home invasion and bank robbery like this guy, a stretch in the slammer is better than getting attacked by a service dog and then shot in a parking lot.

Good shoot

Ha…idiot has his pistol on safe. At the very end, he brings up his other hand and tries to disengage the safety. An engaged safety will get you killed.

I mean he can go back. Just be in a box now.

I agree. Releasing a vicious dog on an armed suspect is setting him up to die for his natural self-defense/fear response.

Whether the world is better off with this guy dead isn’t the point.

Because the law says so, maybe, but it can lead to some stupid outcomes.

He didn't pull the gun until the dog was released.

Don't know guns that well, so don't know what the officers were carrying; but what did he really think he would accomplish when you see that type of fire power and you pull out a handgun?

How bout not have warrants for bank robbing and shite, then the dogs and police won’t be after you.

The problem with thinking this way is that this police tactic won’t just be used in this situation.

Once you say a dog is a police officer, then anytime a dog is released on a suspect, no matter what the suspect is suspected of having done, the suspect, even if actually innocent, can and probably will be shot for trying to protect himself from a vicious animal.

Earnest, you know how you avoid this?

By getting on the ground and doing as your told. Even if your innocent. It’s real simple: don’t run and the dog doesn’t “attack” you.

You’re too fricking stupid to understand this tho so hopefully you earn a Darwin Award in the near future.

You sound like a real piece of shite. I’m not stupid, and you didn’t address my point. Not surprising.

I mean, you’re wishing death on a stranger for having a discussion about the tactics used by and the principles guiding the behavior of the law enforcement officers who are given authority over the people paying their salaries. That’s not rational.

Earnest_Pee is a progressive, based upon his logic. Completely ignores the crime, critiques the response to the crime.

The United States Supreme Court has determined a trained police K-9 has the same protections as a human police officer.

The next logical step is the microsecond it takes for the criminal to adjust his aim from the K-9 to the human officer, which was clearly done in this case.

Greek philosophers spoke about "progressives" (by description) being destructive to a civilized society. There are also many relevant quotes by Mark Twain about progressives being the antithesis to a civilized society.

In short the consensus of the OT is Earnest_Pee is a poopyhead.

Hope the K-9 is OK.

Right, because law enforcement never acts against conservatives?

FBI raids home of pro-life speaker with guns drawn as kids watch

I’m glad they didn’t release a K-9 on him. If they had and if he had tried to fight the dog off, I guess y’all would have been cheering his death.

And? I understand the law. I object to giving a canine the same protection we give a human, regardless of what the law says.
