Brother sent me a video from Navarre last weekend of a hammerhead circling a kid in a kayak right off the beach. Went on for quite some time... scary.

That shark isn't interested in those fatasses. They could have stayed in.

Wait till the hurricane pushes that thing into interstate traffic

yes it was at Navarre Beach.
We see sharks - usually smaller than this - from the Navarre pier quite often. The pier is about 1/4 mile long into the Gulf.
Sharks are often caught here as well...

Just a regular GOM shark trying to make a living. The people were in his kitchen.
From my observations of sharks feeding on stingrays that’s what he was doing.
One day in IIRCC about 1972 when I was fifteen I was navigating a 42’ boat into Little Pass. Everyone else was below taking a nap. As I got to the inside of the pass and turned West into the shallower water to anchor I saw stingrays scooting around followed by hammer heads. Looking further ahead I could see hammerheads tail up.
I woke everyone up. And we launched a small boat. We got closer to the hammer heads feeding on bottom and then saw the Bull Sharks. About six big fat ones. They were scanengng the rays that the hammerheads would miss. They are bad MF’ers.
I never saw a feeding frenzy like that again.

So many scary videos regarding sharks lately

My daughter was at the beach a few years ago when in college, a nice sized hammerhead was right there near the beach. I think in Destin area, or Pensacola.

We keep going in the ocean and we keep finding sharks. Wonder why?

That was in Pensacola.
We had a baby sharks swim past us in Navarre Beach last year and I immediately started singing the baby shark song

Would it be frowned upon to carry let’s saw a 10mm and take care of the threat like you would a threatening bear

Shocker...Those sharks stay around the fishing piers. Especially when you have the shark fishing teams chumming them all night.

What evolutionary purpose does the fin serve? In this case, it gave away his presence to folks above water. SMH
Are you really asking why sharks have fins?

Believe it was Navarre beach
I was going to say the same thing. That looks like the public beach just east of the Navarre Beach fishing pier.

Alert Alert it’s the oven that’s where they live!

Anyone else hear the music from Jaws while watching that.

I wouldn’t be opposed to some Pamela A. style Baywatch lifeguards patrolling the beach

I think there are very few hammerhead attacks recorded and I don't believe they have ever killed anyone.
I don't know why we are surprised to see sharks in the ocean
