Completely disagree. Traveled there for work often and enjoyed it a lot. Had some really great areas, nice bars and some solid restaurants. Far from a shite hole

I'll go off topic a little bit and say Baltimore. While it's often talked about, it's always crime-related talk. It's actually a pretty cool city when you're not getting murdered.

Areas of it are very scenic, and there's great seafood.

There's a song about that. "From Ft. Wayne, Indiana... Merry Chriiiistmas to you." Guess they say that b/c of all the chicks.

You hear a lot aboot the cray, liberal side of Stockholm, but there are OT9's err'where. I hope that letting all that sand trash in did not ruin it.

I get Dhaka l. That's a good one. But no one talks about São Paulo? Idk about that. It gets overshadowed by Rio from a tourism perspective but the financial hub of the country is SP.

Meridian, Idaho - population 121k

They are both part of the Boise metro area, probably why I'd never heard of either.

Only reason I've heard of it is because Nicholas II was holed up there for a while before execution but didn't know it was that large in modern day.

“Milwaukee is not talked about much.

That’s because they suck.

Gary Indiana also really sucked

Here locally we call it "Scary Gary". When making the treck into Chicago along I80/90 you damned sure make sure you don't have to stop there for gas. You have a high likelyhood of getting mugged, and if you don't get mugged, the smell of raw sewage and chemical processing that overwhelms the city will just about do you in.

Everytime we take our 4 year old twins to Schaumberg for a weekend and we pass through Gary it never fails that they scream "what's that smell!?!".

"It's just Gary, girls. We're almost through".

Some people must be talking about it considering how fast it’s growing.

It’s almost unrecognizable from when I moved here 7 years ago and mostly in a good way.

The lack of River or water front and the lack of older industrial areas to convert into “cool” neighborhoods does enhance its blandness.

But it’s just a nice place to live.

Chongquin! Sixteen million people, and I never heard of it until your OP made me google “Largest Cities in China”.
