Understand the controlling the spread aspect of the vaccine since asymptomatic people would be less likely to spread the virus but I’ve heard people argue that the vaccine actually provides better protection going forward from Covid than if you actually had the virus. Why is that the case? Also why are people who had Covid getting the vaccine now? Isn’t that sort of redundant at least in the early stages of the vaccine being available?

You can get the virus again even if you've had it before. Don't be an idiot. Get vaccinated.

You can still get it if you are vaccinated.

Downvote if you want but you are misinformed.

So you are asking if the best way to not get Covid is to get Covid?

Is that like saying the best way to not lose your job is to quit your job?

Nowhere near the same rate.

Having been infected before offers little to no protection in the short/medium term.

The difference is the vaccine targets your immunity to highly conserved segments of the virus. Your immune system might target parts prone to mutation in a natural infection

I'm just saying its not 100% just like the death rate is really low for anyone that isn't a fatass.

Nothing in this world is 100% except les miles fumbling clock situations.

Something like 50% of this country is fat. And that goes up in Southern states.

I am committed to following the science. From CDC.gov;

COVID-19 Vaccine Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) Fact Sheets for Recipients and Caregivers

The Four Vaccine Manufacturers

COVID-/19 Pfizer BioNTech Vaccine EUA Fact Sheet for Recipients
quote:

The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine is a vaccine and may prevent you from getting COVID-19. There is no U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved vaccine to prevent COVID-19.
COVID-19 Moderna Vaccine EUA Fact Sheet for Recipients
quote:

The Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine is a vaccine and may prevent you from getting COVID-19. There is no U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved vaccine to prevent COVID-19.
COVID-19 AstraZeneca Vaccine EUA Fact Sheet for Recipients

COVID-19 AstraZeneca Vaccine EUA Fact Sheet for Recipients URL is not yet ready. The manufacturer URL for this document will be provided once that is available.
COVID-19 Janssen Vaccine EUA Fact Sheet for Recipients

Well Mr informed, it was literally never claimed to be.

~95% protection is still better than the sub 30% from natural immunity.

I mean, the polio vaccine doesn’t stop you from catching polio either. It does make it harder to spread by reducing the severity of the case and reducing the viral load. When that happens, that reduces the number of viable hosts.

No what I am asking is does already having had the virus provide the same protection as getting the vaccine.

Btw, your analogy implies that all people WILL die upon contracting the disease which is just not even remotely the case. The truth is the overwhelming majority do not and it is only a minor inconvenience for most.

I have heard people claim that essentially the “code” that your body receives from the vaccine is “better” than the code your body receives from the actual virus as it pertains to fighting it off in the future. My question is that true?

Which is completely irrelevant to the thread topic of:

Or do you have a need to turn every COVID thread to a personal soapbox even when tangential.

You posting the same stupid shite again and again that you clearly don’t understand at all is extremely amusing.

You might be the biggest idiot on this site and that is quite an achievement.

Why not? Fat shaming needs to return. We would have less deaths
