Holy crap...it is. But only from 1970-1980 when they performed as a quintet. They dropped to a quartet from '62-'70 and after '82.

I really like the idea of every state flag having one star on it. Symbolic of all of them coming together on the American flag. Both "new" state flags have a star.

A lot of those logos (Microsoft, airbnb, Spotify, Burberry, ebay) in the old versions had to be rendered online as image files, as you couldn't really define them as a font set. Also, by going to the more "modern" versions, they logos can be distilled to a very basic hierarchy (serif or sans serif) with various iterations in each overarching group. This way even if the mobile device doesn't have the exact font (although more and more these days they can be referenced in a css file from online repositories) it will fall back to something comparable. Say you don't have Google's Roboto font installed on your computer, the CSS file indicates that the desired font is Roboto, but that it is a sans serif font, your device will still render the page using sans serif text, so you get a basic idea of what the designer intended the page to look like.

New one is much better. You shouldnt have writing on a flag. Symbolism on the new flag is cool too

Exactly. We all can recognize the Texas flag or the Chicago flag. NYC is a seal on a sheet. Flags should be symbolic not literal
