It's like they don't understand that there is so much more revenue on the men's side. I'm all for equal pay, but they aren't providing an equal service.

Another dumb potato. The women's team earned $20,000,000 more in revenue last year.

The US Women's product is far superior to the US Men's.
So why dont the women make the actual World Cup team?

Why do they make so much less than the mens? Is it tied to how many people watch? If so, this makes sense.

Please stop repeating stupd things and read the thread for more information. Thats not a valid comparison.

Essentially, World Cup Year for Women's and a dead year for men's with no big revnue tournaments, no real qualification matches, etc.

These should be evaluated on a four year cycle.

USWNT players get a bonus $1,350 for a win in a friendly, whether it is against a top ten team or not. It appears nothing is written in for a bonus in the case of a tie or a loss.

USMNT players get a $5,000 bonus for a loss, $6,250 for a tie ($8,125 against a top ten team or Mexico), and anywhere from $9,375 to $17,625(top ten or Mexico) for a win.

If someone makes the USWNT World Cup roster, they get a bonus of $15,000. Someone making the USMNT World Cup roster gets a bonus of $68,750.

FIFA paid US Soccer $2 million for winning the World Cup

FiFA paid German Soccer $35 million for winning the World Cup.

As they should. They women should play in the actual World Cup if they want the 35 million. What is stopping them?

FIFA is a completely different argument.

What the women in the USWNT is a chance to talk about a new CBA and US Soccer is shutting them down. Whether or not the women should be paid more is determined by the bargaining process. And right now, the women associated with the USWNT have some bargaining power. If they (USWNT) win gold at the Olympics it puts them in an even better position. This matter will be resolved before they play a match in Rio.

The players on the Uswnt need us soccer more than us soccer need them. Most of these arguments center around revenue brought in by different arms of the us soccer brand. If the brand was stripped from both sides, the men's team would have way more residual value than the women's team. The women would be nothing more than former college athletes because there is no market for women's soccer without a flag behind you.

I'm sure I could throw together some scrubs from this board and challenge the USWNT in a friendly. We'd shut them up rather quickly about how much money they deserve.

Case dismissed.

lol... Why is it so hard for you to understand that some people think that the women should, at least, be paid substantially more than they are now based on revenue earned and success on the field?

I'm not saying the men should make less - not even saying that the women should make the same, but they should certainly be paid more than what they're currently making.

Be nice, LNCH...

Carli Lloyd and Heather O'Reilly aren't bad either. Lloyd gets extra points for her performance in the World Cup final.
