Good. It's insane to think that the American university system EVER went away from strictly merit-based admissions. Basing admissions on race was and is just full tilt stupid.

Jackson's dissent is still a good read regardless of whether you agree with it.

Can you link it? I'd like to read it.
I found it on page 209. I read the first three pages of her drivel, and decline to read more. MLK is rolling in his grave.

I agree. It's important to understand the warped world views that shape a large portion of the society we face and have to deal with on a daily basis.

Chief Justice Roberts' majority opinion states: "Harvard’s and UNC’s admissions programs violate the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment."
Okay. Now, how will they be punished?

Yes. People legitimately think Black individuals cannot obtain a driver's license. How little respect do you have to have for a group of people to assume that?
Its sad what people will allow others to think about them for handouts. Disgusting.

On a scale of 1 to REEEE, how mad are you about this?

It's disgusting how far we have gone from MLK's message.
Another thing I said is how progressives have thrown MLK and his message under the bus in the last fifteen years or so. He was right. They preached his message then, and they’ve completely rejected it now.

Sure they will - as long as they want to keep violating the 14th amendment of the constitution.

I agree with you on this. Harvard certainly considers themselves above the Supreme Court. They'll still do the same thing, but just color it a different way. They'll use the "Is the applicant a victim of a specific systemic racism?" as opposed to directly using "race" as a deciding factor.
I applaud the USSC decision, though I doubt its effectiveness.

What you will see next…..and has been heading that way….is elimination of ACT and SAT scores. So they can make a 3.5 at a shitty public high school “meaningful.”

Good read for low-IQ dolts. Revisionist history shouldn't sway court judges but it seems the dishonest ignorants don't care.

Within the context of this topic, thoughts on white legacy students?

I remember reading something about this years ago. Not so much test scores, but quality of accomplishment. Kids would be named "Valedictorian", and they would even have the GPA to back it up, but their high school was a low performer. Like being MVP of the XFL vs the NFL.
Standards matter and high school students of any race don't magically become high performers just by getting into college.
This was the right move. There's too much equality of outcomes going on instead of equality of opportunity.

You’re only going off of a singular quote of MLK and not telling a greater story of him regarding what he advocated for if you believe that progressives are throwing him under the bus.
