So is this just specific to those programs or is it essentially precedent for AA as a whole?
Nevermind, I just read to poli board thread

Critically, it does not end *all* race-based affirmative action, but it *severely limits* how universities can consider race in admissions decisions.

It opens up the formulas used for a lot of scrutiny.
If it is a points system and race outweighs having a 4.0 GPA and perfect test scores, it is clearly not “severely limited”.

The color of your skin is as trivial as the color of your hair in 2023.
Just out work everyone and you can actually earn the spot.
What a refreshing concept.

This is probably the best thing I have ever read written by the Supreme Court BRAVO BRAVO!
“The student must be treated based on his or her experiences as an individual—not on the basis of race,” Roberts wrote. “Many universities have for too long done just the opposite. And in doing so, they have concluded, wrongly, that the touchstone of an individual’s identity is not challenges bested, skills built, or lessons learned but the color of their skin. Our constitutional history does not tolerate that choice.”

Harvard should be 9-0. It was blatantly racist against Asians.
UNC was using socioeconomic factors that are correlated with race. They should be able to fix it with minor adjustments.

Eliminating racial discrimination means eliminating all of it,” Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in the majority opinion. “And the Equal Protection Clause, we have accordingly held, applies ‘without regard to any differences of race, of color, or of nationality’—it is ‘universal in [its] application.'”
I posted this in PT. Pasting it here.
