Interesting, so honest people shouldnt be able to use the USPS with any certainty is what you are saying. Basically just blaming folks for writing a check instead of the real issue lol great take.

I believe civil service in general is mostly DEI. Most of those folks wouldn’t make it in the regular workforce. Those exams are to find the lowest test scores and hire them. Back in the day the post office was a respectable job. After retiring from the navy he became a postman.

No shock that people on this board would have a problem with this. Yall always tell on yourselves.

Here is the problem (and I’m sure you know this and are just trolling…or I hope so at least). No one gives a shite the color of their skin or their gender. Problem is, these are the people, overall, that absolutely suck at their job. Has nothing to do with race or gender (hell, I’m a fricking woman). Just DO YOUR GOD DAMN JOB.

The odds of you getting hacked online* paying a bill are much lower than of your USPS-mailed check ending up in the wrong folks’ hands.

I understand that now, but I certainly thought a paper check in the mail was the safer route until recently.

Yeah, our local/regional post office has these sorts of problems as well.

No. I meant what I said.

And who said the gap was with USPS.

Holy shite, do you send blind checks in the mail ?

I’m not blaming them.

I’m literally asking what I said: who writes checks anymore.

Checks are archaic - they literally list your account info on them which could be entered online in a million places to boot. Check washing is a $1B scam at least in the US and noone can find the folks committing the crimes, seems like most of them are illegals in certain areas.

As someone who works in governmental audit, I can tell you that municipalities fall victim to this all the dang time. I don't think they'll ever stop using check payments, so it'll just keep happening.

Sending checks through the mail isn't safe, but somehow sending ballots through the mail is?

Wife’s company has had two checks stolen and presented in Illinois.
Drew station LC was the first stop and the odds on favorite for the steal.
I don’t think the Feds really care.

Banks absolutely are involved in these and online scams. I have no doubt. Had a situation a few years ago where Chase admitted to me, rather stupidly, that they knew a scammer was using a Chase account. I asked them if they turned off the account if they knew this. They said "no". I asked why. They never answered. Just ignored me.

No one was arrested, and despite Chase knowing a Chase customer was scammed by another Case "customer", they did not give me my money back. They knew where the money was, they knew the person was a criminal, but they weren't stopping it. Hmmmmmmm

I worked at a post office for awhile. Ppl were the typical mix, some smoke detectors, others were very professional and courteous. I wasn't sad to leave that job.

Had a company mail out the 1099's for oil royalties this year since it's getting too much for us to print, stuff, and mail. There was a 4 line address issue where a lot of trusts couldn't be delivered because of the address getting cut off. But, so many more didn't get delivered and the addresses were correct. No return to us as "Unable to Deliver/Forward". Just...gone. Owners calling day and night scrambling for their $30 1099. Thankfully, we "X"'ed out the TIN, so if that was what they were looking for...eat arse. Have the same issue with checks. They disappear and end up as a washed check, or come back to us with a ripped envelope with a "woops our bad" attached to it.

Any company without positive pay active on their checking account is stupid. Sending checks period is stupid, but there's a dying subsection of America that is still clamoring for goddamn checks.
