It’s happening everywhere. Anything that looks like it might have money in it arrives open or doesn’t arrive at all.

Astute response!

If you are concerned about check washing, write them with a Uni-ball 207 gel pen with black ink. The next step is using a fountain pen with De Atramentis document ink. That is the most secure ink I am aware of, and I have used it daily for documents and the rare checks I write.

So, you think black people are getting jobs at the post office so they can steal your checks?……damn, son!

I guess OP is implying the USPS folks are involved with some of the scams. It’s plausible.

One of my most recent meltdowns was during the last snow day. My mail was at the post office so I went by and there was a very nice black lady attempting to help me, even though I knew she didn’t have to. Then one pulled up in a Mercedes Benz and told her “you ain’t got to do that, they said we wuz closed”.

I had a flaming fit about her sense of entitlement and let her know how I felt. I still see her Mercedes there.

Folks are still hand writing checks AND mailing them? Jesus. Get with the times. Seriously.

The DEI hiring thats taken place for gov institutions for decades has us not even able to safely use our public services.

And this is why the USPS will soon be no more.

I still paid some bills with a mailed check bc I didn’t trust online shite to not get hacked!
The odds of you getting hacked online* paying a bill are much lower than of your USPS-mailed check ending up in the wrong folks’ hands.

*Taking reasonable security precautions for online transactions.

Uni-ball 207 pens.

They also have Uni-Ball Signo 207 with supposedly even better ink.

Hard to believe that any business doing any reasonable amount of revenue isn’t using positive pay.

I pay property taxes and the IRS with a check, the processing fees on 9 property tax bills, and my estimated taxes would be astronomical.

Anyone else dealing with this?
nope

Have absolutely zero issues with my postal service. Literally zero complaints. But I don’t live in a shitty area with a shitty work force either

The conspiracy angle is that mail theft and check fraud will encourage the public to welcome and even beg for CBDC.

Happened to a relative of mine a few years ago, posted about it here. Jacoby in Gretna, LA used the relative's check to steal $1,200. Contacting law enforcement was useless. The bank refunded the money, apparently they're supposed to pursue this stuff aggressively since it costs them massively. But I doubt Jacoby ever faced justice for it.

Have to pay over the phone or online now.

It's just another way that our society and country is becoming completely degraded and unlivable. Somalian fraudsters, check washers, illegals, corrupt politicians, drugs and crime, the list is endless.

That doesn’t refute my point.

At all.

Your property taxes don’t have to be a handwritten check. Not the IRS part.
