Nah frick all that, I’ve come to terms with never deploying, get out in June, my e-4 arse can’t control if I ever deployed anyway. No use crying over it.

The United States should never fight another war unless there is an invasion of our country.

since when would we ever fight a China or Russia totally alone???? if we lose, it's because we don't have allies or they have them, and geez, whose fault is that?
Posted on 11/14/18 at 12:52 pm to TigerFanInSouthland
That’s because we spend valuable resources touting sexual assault awareness training.

My first question is why would we want to fight?
Yeah, it would be stupid for us to go to Russia or China to fight them in a war.. And it would be stupid for them to come here to fight a war. I don't see a plan where one side having to get materials to the other side's location being successful.

Whoever has the capacity to take out the other's satellites will have the greatest advantage. That being said, if it comes to that point, the nuclear ramifications are much more dire to global destruction.

If the country was about to be over run and we would be subjugated to communist Chinese rule, would you want your leader to use nukes?

I can see some President and/or admiral making the political decision that he doesn't want to be the one to lose 5,000 sailors and $15 billion and keeping the carriers in port or far out to see out of harms way.
That’s what the Brits mostly did in WW1 despite having the vastly superior navy. They were scared of losing their new super cruisers to submarines so they just sat in the port except for 1 major skirmish and a few others. Doubt the US would do the same since we are so far ahead of everyone with our navy that anyone that comes up against us is pretty much doomed, our air and sea power are our strengths and if we just sat back and made it a ground and pound affair we are morons. So yeah you’re probably right, that’s ezactly what they’ll do.

So, we could beat the worlds military's combined. That is fact. China can have a 10 billion man army, it doesn't matter if they only have 700 boats and 3000 aircraft. If you control the sky, you control the battlefield.

How would they project power?

I think your referring to major nation on nation war, but do you understand the United States has been at some form of conflict most years of its existence? It is necessary when we are the only global police force. There is always going to be conflict in the world and the USA needs to be able to step in when needed.

Look at their current efforts
China and Russia are both exerting economic power through market manipulations and adverse trade agreements
China is building bases in the SCS and has "invaded" some islands that are locked in territorial disputes
China has sent their Navy to S. America on numerous occasions
Russian ships operate just off our atlantic coast
They are deeply entrenched in Syria and have worked to destabilize the Ukraine and Baltic States

What you’re referring to is more of a regional projection then the ability to project globally.
My point is that they are nowhere near the ability to project power that the US possesses. China has one carrier that is more of a test case and Russia has zero.
As someone that worked on defense budget issues in DC, this report is some BS.

Rifle behind every blade of grass. . . yada yada yada.
I just don't think rural North Louisiana would be worth the headache to conquer and rule. Some natural gas, rich farmland, gorgeous women, but we're drunk, quarrelsome, and heavily armed. It's like fighting a big retarded guy. You win nothing and he might eat you.

My first question is why would we want to fight? They coming to North America? If not, I don't care.

They could strangle our economy without setting foot on this continent. One might argue that they are implementing the nonmilitary phase of that plan right now
That only works as long as we allow it.
