Meet the B-21.....

quote:

Washington (AFP) - The US Air Force on Friday unveiled the first image of its next-generation bomber that will replace antique B-52s first developed during the Cold War.

The all-black plane has a distinctive, zigzagging shape and a super-low profile that will make it hard to spot on radar, and bears more than a passing resemblance to the Air Force's B-2 bomber, which is also made by Northrop Grumman.

It has a longer range and can also be flown with/without a pilot. I'm willing to bet it can fly higher than the B2 as well

Also, the B-2 ran on conventional jet fuel. The newer model can have tax dollars fed directly into it for propulsion.

Let me know when they make one that can do a barrel roll with the different colored jet trails.

It's already beaten the F-35 in dogfight simulations.

The Air Force plans to purchase 80–100 LRS-B aircraft at a cost of $550 million each (2010 dollars). A development contract was awarded to Northrop Grumman in October 2015.

at $550M/bomber the B-21 will be $1.5B cheaper per plane

With the progression of laser technology, you won't need true dogfighter platform by 2025

The same thing was said in the mid-60's about air-to-air missiles. Remember the gun-less Phantom?
