velocity of a ballistic missile and MIRV
Ding ding, somebody knows their military science. MIRV speed is about 4 times the speed of that hypersonic missile. The death nobody will see coming. Hard to imagine more than 4 MILES per second

Weve had them since the 60s
Yea but they are ballistic, require crazy high altitudes, and can be shot down due to their flight characteristics.
Hypersonics technology is way different, way more sophisticated, and way way more harder.
And yes, we are behind.

The main difference between what we've done versus Russia and China. Our technology and apparatus is all new. Russia used Advanced auto parts to field test their first missiles.
No new technology at all.
China was not much better. At the same time we were developing our new technology and weapons system, we were also developing counter strike abilities as well. If not right now, we are very close to a reliable response system. We'll be in a position to shoot down their crap and they will not be in position to counter what we field. At the same time, we have three new B-23 Bombers to replace B-1 and B-3 technology. Those frames are being tested at this time. Flyable and in the field. The Abrams has been upgraded and is now Javelin proof.
Yet we have CNN, MSNBC campers and Fox News campaigns that are uninformed.
Maybe these people are on the Congressional UFO hearings taking place today. There is nothing more illogical than a bunch of politicians, incapable of critical thought, asking questions about unicorns and cow farts.

The best way to knock out a MIRV that has entered terminal stage is to detonate your own nuclear device above your airspace hoping to scramble/destroy the MIRV prior to "impact"

I am pretty sure this is what the Russians accidentally blew up while testing off the Arctic Siberian coast a year or two ago so “have” is probably a relative term.

Holy shite we are still flying these huge birds?
There's a whole complex at Tinker dedicated to literally rebuilding these aircraft every 10 years are so.

Pretty sure I heard from somewhere that China and Russia already have hypersonic nuclear missiles and are capable of striking the US before we could retaliate.
I think I can piss further than Russia can shoot a missile.

Our primary nuclear deterrent are the boomer submarines loitering underwater all the time as well as our own silos in the US and abroad. A lot are on the plains and Midwest which was done for a purpose. Putting a silo close to the coast is greater risk of being compromised. But to answer your question in this day and age of air defense capability by both sides the B-52 could drop a weapon but it would very likely be a suicide run as the chances of getting out enemy airspace would be minimal without any fighter cover. When the AF finally rolls the B-21 Raider out it will change the game. Today we mainly used our 52 and B-1 in Iraq and Afghanistan asa heavy conventional bomber dropping dumb bombs and bunker busters for the infantry. The B-1 in particular really shined in that role. Still, nothing is a better sound for infantry in trouble than the low, slow flying brrrrrrp of the A-10 Warthog which is another very old airframe that just keeps on getting better with age. There’s a reason no nation including China wants to mess with us. We are superior in the air and on the seas to anyone.

B-52 has multiple capabilities.
Originally developed to carry nuclear warheads overtime it has morphed into other missions.
You would not want to fly a B-52 to drop common iron bombs if that target still has air superiority. We lost many B-52s in Vietnam because of the North Vietnamese surface to air missiles.
Since Vietnam the B-52 can fly near a hostile countries' border and launch cruise missiles.

If they’re telling you about it, it’s because something else that is much better is being implemented.

You have direct knowledge stating otherwise?

Laughable in the same way we are behind in MBT tech because of the T-14. Countries that are truly behind make a public deal about their tech far before it is deployable. The Armada on paper looks like a serious contender for best MBT in the world but they are vaporware in the real world and Ukraine is putting a bright line on that. The T-14s APS called Shtora is deployed on the T-90s and is getting the shite kicked out of it by the Javelins.

You have direct knowledge stating we're behind?
Let me let you in on a little hint: We don't publicly demonstrate advanced technology without a reason.

Yes.
Hypersonics weapons development for OSD is my job.
