that's why I took it down after one minute, just trying, in vain on the OT, to make a point, but it's a fact

Oh no! Luckily for you guys there isn't a major competitor with the same or better infrastructure!

Got a warning letter once for not bending my knees when putting diesel in a package car
I had a building where they fricked up the fuel drop putting gas in the diesel tank. All the dielsels got topped off with gas that night. The shite hit the fan the next afternoon when the heavier diesel fuel at the bottom of the tanks was consumed and the diesels started burning gasoline. One phone call after another from drivers breaking down.

I highly doubt it, but if it makes you feel better than whatever. There you go saying things are facts that you have no direct knowledge of though.

driver wants AC during the summer. You are getting in and out of the vehicle 150 times a day. That much temperature change throughout the day will make you sick...as in fall out. Give me a fan over the AC any and all days of the week.
bullshite. I work on the farm in this heat every day and never turn off my F250 and keep the air on full blast and I guarantee I get in and out of it 100 times a day. Never affected me

All the competitors combined couldn't absorb UPS's volume back in the '97 strike. In fact they were flat out telling shippers they couldn't handle it and most of those packages sat in warehouses for 2 weeks until the strike ended. Globally, UPS delivers about 40-50% more packages than FedEx. You think FedEx has the infrastructure to absorb 20 million more packages every day?

Ok. I’m against unions. I believe they had a purpose at a point in history. I don’t believe they are necessary now.
You’re a pilot. Quality pilots aren’t a dime a dozen like truck drivers. You can find a guy with a decent work ethic and turn him into a competent truck driver in a couple days. The same can’t be said for pilots.
Because of your skills, you have a certain amount of leverage. A skilled pilot isn’t easily replaced. You would be fine without a union.
Why is a union necessary for truck drivers?

What sucks is the a person could think that they are just gonna stay and work and show the bosses their desire to do well and help the company out and it won’t make a bit of difference.
Even trying to show some hard work won’t get a person like that promoted

that's another place you're mistaken, it's the position that demands/commands the compensation,
This is the dumbest thing that i've ever read (and I once started a thread on children's swimwear) and it now makes complete sense why you support labor unions.
You have no idea about running a business. Businesses don't exist to serve the employees. Employees exist to serve the business. And the business exists to serve the customer.
It's the value you bring to the business that serves the customer that justifies your compensation. Without your value, there is no position. You're delusional and have no understanding of basic economics.

I seriously doubt the USPS has the same infrastructure. FedEx yes to a certain degree.

Then change careers. Don’t force an industry that pays ABC to start paying XYZ.
Like teachers. You know going in you’re going to max out at about 45k. Don’t bitch after 5 years when you aren’t making 75k.
I’d love to work at a driving range. It pays $9/hr. That’s not conducive to the kind of lifestyle I want for myself and my kids. I’m not going to form a driving range worker union and demand $30/hr and benefits. It’s probably hard work but doesn’t require much skill.
Start a business, go manage a hedge fund, start selling insurance or something. There will always be a fair-market earnings cap unless you work on commission or own your own business.

Unions exist to help keep the company from running roughshod over their employees. It's not a coincidence that the rise in corporate wealth coincides with union busting.
Yeah, unions have issues. I'll take those issues and some leverage against management than supposedly no issues and having no leverage whatsoever. If it hurts the company's growth a bit, oh well. Let's not act as if wages have increased with the decline of unions. It's part of why wages have stagnated the past few decades. Companies will never offer more to help their employees out. All you'll hear is we can't afford it as share value increases and the CEOs wages skyrocket.

Unions are one of the main reasons manufacturing has been steadily declining in the us for decades. They served a purpose years ago but now they are a big part of the problem. Workers need some protection however a system that protects inefficient workers the same as efficient it's not going to work. Plus unions have gotten to political . I could go on but unions today need major changes
