Local 878 here.
Let's do this
quote:
United Parcel Service (UPS) workers have given their union the go-ahead to call a strike in what would be their first walkout in decades. The vote gives union negotiators more sway in contract talks with the shipping giant.
Let's do this

We are just going to ship everything FedEx at work if it happens, no sweat off our back

Bahahaha.
They are all going to end up without a job, perfect time for the Trump Admin to act and privatize the U.S.P.S. once and for all.

Former UPS driver here.....Gotta be careful what you wish for. The strike of 97' opened the door for FedEx Ground and Home Delivery. FedEx was just an overnight company prior to that. Just think about how much business that took from UPS and ultimately it's work force. I was in the union as I believe it has its place but sometimes the tail wags the dog TOO much. Hopefully a solution can be reached without a work stoppage....cause ultimately that hurts everybody.

You ever wonder why UPS drives around in shitty arse trucks with no AC, while Fed Ex drives around in those brand new Sprinters with that AC blasting?

Unions suck. They're no longer needed.

Balderdash. Think about what you are supporting with that argument.

Yup. At this point they are just an arm of the democrat party.

NO driver wants AC during the summer. You are getting in and out of the vehicle 150 times a day. That much temperature change throughout the day will make you sick...as in fall out. Give me a fan over the AC any and all days of the week.

Look before you step
Establish a firm footing
Adjust to changing conditions
Don’t run, walk
Stay off of belts and rollers
How I remember that I do not know. Worked at UPS when I was 19, that was a decade ago
