instead of taking the anti-union side, why not research the history of airline management, you seem to be good at googling
Instead of parroting this why not refer to my last post where I mentioned that unnecessary government regulation is the only basis for a union's existence. You can't extol the value you bring to a company while also claiming you need protection to cement your idea of fair compensation from said company.

United Parcel Service (UPS) workers have given their union the go-ahead to call a strike in what would be their first walkout in decades. The vote gives union negotiators more sway in contract talks with the shipping giant.
And this is exactly why Amazon is going more with independent contractor as a delivery option. To use as leverage and buffer against any union strike while making the strikers appear to be the villains.

Being old and arguing in defense of labor unions is not something to be proud of. You're trying though.

LOL at UPS striking, you can find any dick to deliver packages. Especially since they don't actually have to verify whats inside or go thru shite. A box monkey!
It's bordering on what a monkey could be trained 2 do.

Everyone thinks their contribution to a company is so valuable that not only could no one else do their job, but that the company would fall apart without them. Until they quit, retire, or get laid off and the machine keeps on rolling.
The joke is on UPS, Fedex, and USPS drivers. Drones are going to start dropping packages from the sky and drivers will realize how unnecessary they were.

UPS is pure shite. They are always a day late. If I go to UPS at 9am and say I want two day delivery, and pickup is at 11am, without fail they will turn it into 3 day delivery even though the package is ready by pickup time. They are nothing but liars and thieves. They are slow and careless with packages, too.
FedEx for the win.
Please, UPS employee, go on strike. The world won't notice a thing.

I’m a retired IBEW union member. Taking a strike vote is normal procedure for any union in negotiations. If you don’t give your union negotiators this leverage, you will absolutely get screwed in the negotiations. It is just a tool to use in the process. These days the people that vote too give your representatives this tool will not vote to walk out when their nuts are on the line. I’ve been through this process to many times and seen how things work out when the loss of a paycheck is on the line. You must be new to the process

Why does UPS get away with doing a shitty job???

that's another place you're mistaken, it's the position that demands/commands the compensation, not the individual, similar to what people think of the POTUS, you may dislike the president but the position commands respect, or should

It's not as easy as you think. It's all in the planning and stop sequence from the time you leave the building in the morning. All it takes is a few mistakes, a little traffic, a broken elevator, a few packages misloaded in the wrong section or found on the floor behind a bulk stop and your whole day is fricked up.
