You're equating labor relations to unskilled workers as a Strawman.

I've never had an issue with Fed Ex. UPS is always late and losing shite. I try to avoid at all costs.

You are paying for reliability and independence. Not many people are going to show up to work with a foot of snow on the ground for 10 bucks an hour.

Well, 777 does hit a nip. He's still kickass though.

The fast food business model could not support that high of a pay grade. UPS trucks gross $2k-$4k per day. Big difference between flipping .99 cent burgers and delivering $100k worth of goods everyday.

my dad and grandfather dealt with labor unions their entire lives in the manufacturing industry. I never heard the end of the yearly negotiations. I'm not sure why that matters though.

We can talk first principles of economics if you'd like. In the absence of government regulation, there is no basis for unions to exist. They cater to the weakest members of any industry. If you rely on them, it's because you don't provide enough value to justify your compensation.

Fast food workers can be replaced by automation once the pricepoint is right (and that's coming). UPS drivers cannot (at least not yet and probably never for larger, heavier items).

A clean record, satisfactory customer service, patience with the warehouse, traffic, and customers while working with a tight schedule, on-time and able to work independently throughout the day, in any weather. That is good for $100/day easy if I am UPS. Pizza boys probably get paid more for much less qualifications when the tips come in. No, I have never worked for mail delivery

Would you trust a $10/hour quality employee to deliver 75k-100k worth of goods for you everyday...Which you are ultimately liable for if stolen or damaged? I don't think so....You give a $10 pizza to a $10/hr employee for delivery and thats about it.

You must be so valuable that your company would do anything to retain your services. In the absence of a union, there would be a bidding war for your services. Tell me again why you need to pay union fees.

You are asking like I don't believe that mail delivery drivers are not value-added labor. I think they do have value, hence why I said easily $10. That is the floor, not the ceiling.

UPS is proposing a two-tier wage structure that would switch part-time workers making $15/hour to full-time status, while existing employees would continue to earn $36 an hour, or roughly $75,000 a year.

$75,000 per year to deliver packages??? Holy shite LINK

instead of taking the anti-union side, why not research the history of airline management, you seem to be good at googling

Oh, how hard can it be?

-Point nose at sky
-Keep nose pointed away from ground
-Keep nose in front
-Wings go side to side, not up and down
-Make sure spinny things keep spinning
-Keep the wheels on the bottom
