Thanks for the info and enjoy the snow but I will take this Louisiana heat.

Having lived in both, I prefer a cold winter to a Louisiana summer

When does the lake become unnavigable? Usually..I know it varies..like here on lakes.

The bay we all keep our boats in will be the first to freeze. Two years ago it was frozen by this time. I help maintain a cabin about 7 miles uplake I am about to run up to to winterize as soon as I get off this conf call. Just a few more reefs get exposed that you need to know about. The lake is 800 feet and averages like 300 I believe. The lake doesn't freeze every year.

So lucky for you to be on the other side of the mountain range. It's foggy and dreary out here in the western part of the state

Yeah 90 degrees in October sucks. Supposed to be cooler this weekend at least.

Yeah...90 something degrees does suck in October. It's always funny when the weatherman says there’s a cold front coming and the high is going to be 80 degrees.

How does one plan on planning on taking out a boat?

First you find out what kind of food the boat likes...

Hope to get a place in the mountains to park an RV during the summer before I retire. Best of both worlds - summer in mountain climate, winter in LA.

but it's always nice to see the fist snow. Just thought I would pass it around for those back home working in the heat and humidity. Have a good afternoon

As my father who was from Michigan said, you don’t shovel heat.

My dad has this setup although not an RV. He hasn't spent a summer down South in 15+ years at this point

Elevation certainly makes a difference.

I'm at about 700'.

Nice! We were in Florida towards the end of April.
We spent most of our time in St. Augustine. We stayed in a place with a balcony and great view of the ocean.
The weather was great!!

Mowed my yard down here in the dirty south and my pepper plant is about to put out a new crop it appears. More hot sauce. I'm chilling with my short off in a nice breeze and drinking cold beer. I'll be bass fishing Friday and Saturday morning then grilling with my shirt off enjoying that wonder fulcotober weather we have here in the south.

Before the steaks go on the grill I'll salt and pepper them... set them on the counter. Then I'll take off my shirt guide my woman to join me for some outdoor scrogging. Then time to shower. Steaks be room temp. Fire will get up to temp in 10 minutes. Steaks ready in 5. Baked tater out the oven. Kickoff at 6. Wine and beer is flowing

You can have your Alaska. I'll take my Tennessee/north Mississippi all day.
