CALDWELL PARISH, La. (KNOE) - A woman has been arrested after an accidental gun discharge at the McDonald's in Columbia on Highway 165. It happened Thursday morning just before noon.
According to the Caldwell Parish Sheriff's Office, the person arrested was a female employee at the restaurant. They say the gun discharged when the employee accidentally dropped it. The bullet hit a water line in the ceiling, damaging the water line. No one was hurt.
The employee, whose name will be released shortly, was arrested on unspecified gun and drug charges.
As of Thursday afternoon, the McDonald's was closed due to the damaged water line.

I’m never bitching about the ice cream machines again.

UPDATE: Noticed on some Facebook posts that the exact same McDonald's is now currently on fire. I will post a link when I can verify this. This gets even more bizzare.

She couldn’t hit that water line again if she tried.

If it was really an accident why is she being arrested? Do they have doubts?

As I have gotten older, this happens to me occasionally, but never in McDonald's...

Based in the local broadcast, she was in possession of a gun, I'm guessing no Ccl. But also meth and drug paraphernalia. The news site hasn't updated yet

Possession of drugs for starters. I think it's a felony to possess a gun at the same time as illegal drugs.

If I'm the manager there, she's suspended for a week, but I take her aside afterwards and tell to keep doing the meth, but leave the gun in the break room.

I bet it was the water feed line to the shake machine.

This kind of stuff happens more than people realize.
I remember a case of a woman shooting another customer at a McD's (or maybe it was a Krystal's?) in Memphis in like 1980 by the same method of putting her purse on the counter.

Do not believe unless she was carrying a 1911. "It just went off!" she said. Right.

What kind of gun was it that a 3 foot drop could make it go off? I could drop every pistol I own, fully cocked with a round chambered a thousand times without one ever firing accidentally.
