Dear Heavenly Father, please be with me, I pray, as I move on from the old to the new. The joy, memories, and hardships of the last season of my life are behind me. Help me to leave them there, Lord, and not carry them with me into this new season.Help me to let go of all hurts, anger, and grudges, and see all people as the blessing they are, Your children. Thank You, Lord, for this opportunity to begin this new adventure with You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

I’m agnostic. I could never figure out how to have faith despite trying. Still, I have to admit this is one hell of a prayer, and I may steal it.

Share your grief with someone you trust, who will just listen and not judge you, and cry your eyes out. Crying is a healing experience. you need healing. God bless.

Sounds like you are moving forward. Best of luck to you. My sister just lost her husband of 45 years. She is truly lost and afraid to do anything. Good luck with you, and make decisions slowly.

ETA: I took the time and dug back through your old post to find “massive heart attack”

Why did you put quotation marks around massive heart attack?

I can remember your story like it was yesterday. I’m hoping that those downvotes are from fat fingers because I will personally drive to the nearest sonic to handle any coward that did it. I pray that God is with you and you’re family (sounds like he is). Keep going strong brother. I’m sure there are people on this board that can help you way more then I can but if you ever need anything don’t hesitate to ask me.

Prayers with you Hoova. This forum and how we communicate here can sometimes be toxic. But it can also be uplifting and I think your spirit in this context can be an uplifting lesson to us all even in wake of your painful loss.

You are a good man and a great dad. Let Jesus take the wheel as time marches on. Your kids need your love so much in the days ahead. Eyes on Jesus and your kids. Praying for happiness, love, and peace for your family, God Bless

I am sorry, I know it F-ing sucks. I am almost 7 months out and it does get a little better. I compare it to a storm, when it first happened the storms were often and severe. As time goes on, the storms still come and pop up out of the blue. But they aren’t as severe and they don’t last as long. It’s cliché but take it one day at a time. You aren’t alone and if you ever want to reach out and talk I am here for you. I will pray for you and your family.

It is a hard realization when a close loved one passes, and time and life move on like nothing happened. You want to scream, "STOP...I need some time", but it just doesn't work that way.

You never get over it. There is no closure. You learn to live with it, you move on, and you keep them in your heart and memories.

Good luck to you and your children. May you find peace in your new beginning.
