It's also tragic that a lot of people just lost their livelihoods. Some of these vineyards are generations old and passed down. A lot of people lost everything they have.

Eh, not that many people. Many of those wineries are owned by big money, either other businesses or rich people as an "investment" and hobby.

The land is worth a ton, even all burned down. No families that own a winery are going to be devastated, they'll be able to financially be fine unless they leveraged themselves but that's on them. There will be plenty of work for the employees now, business usually booms after times like these. They'll be hurting until they start to rebuild, but long term they'll be fine. Plenty of money around there to spur a recovery.

I said some, not all. Will hill is owned by the biggest wine producer in the world and will be fine.

Not all of them are big boys. Plus plenty of houses in the area burned down too as well as the Hilton. I don't think the maids there or the bar owners in the area that burned down are loaded.

William Hill was a beautiful estate
It still is. The winery is fine. It was just the sign and some landscape that got torched.

A large fire started in northern LA County this summer when some idiot drove his car into a tree.

We're talking about switching to Cabo or to the Oregon wine country.

My cousin lives in San Rafael, and someone was seen today trying to start a fire near their house....

I can't imagine what I would do if I caught my neighbor. The scenes from nearby towns are surreal.

This fire is clearly God's response to California becoming a "sanctuary" state.
