If she accidently walked into the wrong apartment and shot the occupant out of fear...by law that fits Manslaughter
If she entered the apartment with intent to commit a crime then it will rise to Murder.

Dude was an internal auditor (based on his title) for one of the top 4 accounting and consulting firms in the world and you’re acting like he was some gang banger.
He probably was making around 70k a year as a 26 year old with strong upward mobility. I’m going to guess the picture of him in a suit is the most accurate portrayal of him.

That is the problem...overcoming the statement that she entered by mistake
she entered on purpose though... the mistake was it wasn't her place. i'm banking on she intended to harm whomever she incorrectly thought was in her apartment.

Or is it possible she is just stupid and walked into the wrong apartment?
the 2 audio witnesses seem to be pretty intent she was pounding on the door and attempting to enter. i'm not even sure she entirely entered, which would be required for what i'm talking about.

Officer identified and charged. Apparently there was something given to the DA thay challenged DPD's narrative of events that the DA didnt want released.

A 30-year old off-duty Dallas police officer has been arrested and charged with manslaughter in the shooting death of 26-year-old Botham Shem Jean on Thursday night.
Four-year Dallas-Fort police veteran Amber Guyger was taken into custody at 7:20 p.m., according to Dallas County jail records.
quote:
Following Merritt’s meeting with the district attorney, he decided against releasing the new evidence he believes will lead to Guyger’s arrest.
“Family attorneys brought forward a witness and video evidence, not of the shooting itself,” Merritt said. “The narrative that is being pushed by DPD is challenged by the evidence that was brought up.”
The Texas Rangers have decided to take a slower approach to conducting the investigation, according to Merritt.
“Which is why they pulled back on the warrant,” he said. “We know she (Guyger) used her service weapon ... when people saw her in the public, they believed she was a police officer ... for us, it enhances the culpability .”
In the days after Jean’s death, rumors have swirled on social media after a photo surfaced from Jean’s Instagram account showing him pictured, smiling, with three other women.
Many have stated that one of the women in the photo was Guyger, but that rumor was shot down after Jean’s former employer, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, LLC, told The Dallas Morning News that the women were colleagues of Jean’s.

Report out says she entered the apartment after she parked on the wrong floor and didn't notice the apartment number clearly illuminated on the side or the red door mat in front of Mr Jean's door, which she doesnt have.
Report also states the door was unlocked to the aparrment and she entered still thinking it was her apartment. Report states the apartment was dark when she encountered Mr Jean and shot him once in the chest. Only when she turned on the lights did she notice it wasnt her apartment.
Now, I'm no doctor, but would being tired only cause you to miss that many signs you are in the wrong area? Still think she was under the influence of something to cause her to not even know where she lives.
Still doesn't explain the report what the people heard of she was yelling "open the door" ...that part still is perplexing but still makes me think she was either high or drunk

Lets get real, she knew the guy, she knew it was his apartment, she went there to waste him, this is her weak arse cover story, the department knows it, and are in damage control mode.

El Gaucho is a troll who writes intentionally over the top statements as a joke. He is just making stuff up.
The guy has about 25 social media photos. He is wearing a suit in about 15 of them, playing rugby in 3, and smiling while wearing preppy clothes with family and some random old white man in the others. Then there is one of him in front of a boat.
I think it is going to be impossible to find a single negative thing about this guy, although a few people on this site are going to try their hardest. However, this is really the type of case where the frick up is so big on the part of the officer and the victim is so sympathetic to any neutral observer that it will be almost all public sentiment is going to be in favor of the victim.

e earned a bachelor's degree from Harding University in Arkansas in 2016. Crump said Jean was "living, doing everything that you want a young person to do." "He had no criminal history. He was an amazing student. He was an amazing citizen. He loved God," Crump said. Friends and family gathered at a vigil at Jean's church, the Dallas West Church of Christ on Saturday, CNN affiliate CBS 11 reported. He was remembered by classmates, coworkers and family members as a loving son and brother, a hard worker and a powerful singer who enjoyed helping others. "Botham loved mankind," Jean's mother, Allison Jean said to those gathered. "Botham never saw color, never saw race. Botham wanted all of us to unite."
I'm pleased they finally arrested Amber Guyger.

Link on this info please. I have read that Guyger had trouble getting her key to work, set things down and continued to try the key. Jean opened the door and she shot him.

basically
early on on FB i saw people do the "this is why we kneel" stuff with this story and that's died down. they're not going to promote this one because their narrative is that these situations happen all the time and the cops aren't punished. won't happen here (and in Texas of all places)

Why is it out of the realm of possibilities that she made some innocent mistakes while still making some unacceptable mistakes and therefore the manslaughter?
My bet is on her making innocent mistakes up to the point of pulling the trigger, then actually shooting him was unnecessary and a crime?
This type of thing happens occasionally, only reason it’s really a story is that she was a cop.
