Interior elevator shaft still standing, actually leaning.
LINK
Video (Fixed)
An 11-story tower was supposed to be demolished Sunday morning in Uptown, but the building located at 2828 North Haskell Avenue did not entirely collapse.
A core shaft was left standing after an initial implosion around 7:45 a.m. that contained the elevator and stairwell shafts, explained Steve Pettigrew, the president of Pettigrew Inc., one of the companies involved in the implosion.
UPDATE: So now they have brought in an old fashioned wrecking ball to take down the Leaning Tower of Dallas. But someone described this wrecking ball as about the size of a 5lb bag of sugar.

UPDATE: Advertising for Choctaw Casino was projected onto the side of the building last night!

Difference is that people in Texas don’t call it success.

Someone measured the charges in kgs, not lbs.

Now that’s how you build a DAD GUM ELEVATOR SHAFT!!!!!
Can’t even drop it when they blow the building up.
Excellent craftsmanship right there

That would be more explosive if they meant 1 lb and someone put 1 kg instead.
1 kg = 2.2 lb
ETA: Finally watched the video. Technically, they knocked it all down. That central shaft dropped, but it stayed standing. You know, just like that crane part that's still embedded in Rampart. By New Orleans standards, that's an unqualified success.

Must've been the same people that half assed the Hard Rock building/cranes.

Whoops. If I was in charge the mantra would be more TNT not less.

Watching buildings blow up never gets old.

LaToya and Chief Mustache need to go over there to see what happened. That way in a year or so when they take down the Hard Rock Collapse they’ll make sure it goes right.

They will have nothing to do with if the Hard Rock implosion works or not. That will all be on the contractor who is hired.
I'm really worried something is going to go wrong and the Saeger is going to get damaged.
