Brian’s biggest problems (other then being a murderer) are simple:

1. Everyone has a camera in their hands today.
2. Everyone has social media and is aware of him.
3. Everyone wants to “be a part of the story” and is looking for him.
4. It’s hard to flee the country during COVID.
5. (Biggest one to me) He has very little ability to change his appearance. - He is already thin and has little hair. If he was 240 lbs, he could go remote camping and eat 500 calories a day and lose down to 165 lbs and be unnoticeable.
- if he had hair, he could shave it short or color it differently and be unnoticeable.

This dude is dead already or he is going to be found quickly.

All he needs is a face mask, baseball cap, and sunglasses. Instantly unnoticeable.

Find a homeless encampment and he will even have charities and the government giving him food and water.

So, going from a wannabe YouTube personality (thanks to the girl he killed), to living the rest of his life in a homeless camp.
I’m not sure that is better than jail.

I haven't been paying as much attention to this case anymore. Probably haven't posted in over 150 pages.

But what are the chances Brian is even still alive.

Surely the Feds have already froze all of his debit/credit cards. If he went to the ATM a single time he would be found. If he booked a flight out the country, seemed like he would be caught there as well. Customs agents are likely all on high alert.

Or does it not work like this at all actually? I truly don't know.

Probably Guilty is the new presumed innocent.

It should always be guilty before innocent. Kind of weird to say innocent until proven guilty but we are going to cuff, arrest, and jail you.

not sure about that. He could have easily flew home from WY...she could have carried on to meet her friend. He likely snapped at her and killed her.

I think it’s more likely a snap situation as well and probably involved both getting physical at first like Utah.

Depending on if the “Stan” texts on 27th were before or after their sighting at the Mexican restaurant I can see the window of her death being between leaving and the texts if they happened after restaurant (if Stan texts after i can see him panicking after killing her and using Stan accidentally like he probably called him & if before could have been by her). His behavior at restaurant and her getting aggravated with his behavior at restaurant including going back inside to apologize for his behavior might have led to another Utah fighting deal while riding back to campsite that didn’t get to have a cool down period enforced and continued once parked.

If not for being pulled over and having a cool down one or both (if fight in car causes wreck) might have been killed back in Utah. What started that caused witness to call police was still happening during drive when cops got involved and separated them.

I figure it was done in a fit of rage from prolonged and escalated fighting. I really want to know what the cause of death is. It is likely something quick. I dont think the rage would last long enough to strangle someone. Most like a single blow to the head with his fist or a rock. I've seen nothing about anyone hearing a gun shot so I doubt that's the case. Its likely one of those oh shite what did I just do moments he instantly regretted. Probably shite his pants afterwards and has been fricked in the head since.

He has likely offed himself if he could bring himself to do it.

Just IMHO of course

So why not just grab anybody and make them prove that they DIDN'T kill gabby? Literally anybody. Serious question.

Dumb take. Truly dumb. How else do you charge someone with something and bring them before a court of law?

If you look for something that isn't there, you can continue looking and getting paid to look for a long, long time. You can look for a bar of gold in my hay field a long, long, long time.
Likewise someone.

The cost isn't just what's directed at BL. The (IMO) ultimate cost is in the growing anger of families, other families, who have missing family members and who see relatively nothing being done.

In my part of the country we've had two missing children: one last fall who was found months later deceased for months with all her belongings in a relative's outbuilding. She was three.

Another is a five year old, and people have volunteered to walk through the woods and mountains to walk grids to try to find her. She is still missing.

There's a young attractive black woman locally who's missing.

These are a lot of families who must wonder at the allocation of resources.

A woman in my town went missing on Monday with her baby, and I didn't see news coverage until yesterday.

I just don’t know why he would go home first. Maybe to see his parents one last time? Maybe they didn’t even know what happened.

The comments, though, I found disturbing as many wanted the parents arrested. Presumed innocent seems to have flown out the window and nosedived into a swamp.

The presumption of innocence has nothing to do with internet message boards or comment sections.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but in this case in particular, the media didn't exactly "choose" this case.

This case blew up on the ground, with social media, and people like me and you, and when that happens, the media really doesn't have much of a choice but to cover it. It became a big story amongst people, and so they ran with it.
And then when the media got it, that put pressure on LE to do something about it. Like it or not, that is how these things go.

True crime stories bring out the worst kind of obsessed people.

When the Delphi girls were killed, I read an article on Facebook that was an interview with the owner of the property where the girls were found. It had a video of him too.

A women in the comments said that she knew, without a doubt, that the man had killed both girls. When asked how, she responded that it was her intuition as a woman and a mother.

You can't reason with people like that.
