It was the weekend too. The bethune folks said their were no available camp sites in that area on their video.

You may be right. I thought I remember reading it was remote and away from the popular areas.

ETA: I got confused. Carry on.

Flip flops are also not recommended for driving while speeding, swerving and slapping your fiancé as you berate her.
But remember the Baker? girl the local couple whose story the police are saying is legit?
She said he wore BOOTS when they gave him a ride from hitchhiking to the Dam.
In fact she stated “He was unshaven but mostly clean, only his BOOTS were really muddy”

I thought she said she was supposed to call on the 29th to figure out the plans of when they would actually meet over the next few days. I may be mistaken.

That's what's I thought but the Daily Post interview says this:

quote:

Davis told the Daily Mail that she’d last spoken to Petito in early August, when they discussed meeting up in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming for Davis’ birthday on Aug. 29. Davis said she had requested off work for the days, but never went after never hearing back from Petito.

The way I read that is they were going to meet up on the 29th but she didn't go when she didn't hear from her. Which doesn't add up to me because didn't she supposedly send a Snapchat that said she was on her way to Yellowstone on the 27th?

So, im just getting home from work and haven’t heard any news today concerning this.

Is there any reason to not believe that he’s dead of suicide in the woods? That would be my wildly uninformed guess at this point. He’s dead. He knew he was caught, weighed his options, and killed himself.

If she was dead in the van he wouldn't care about wearing flip flops in the van....she was the reason why he took his flip flops off before getting in the van

That's true but I was more thinking that flip flops are not the gear to be taking out if you're in "plan to dispose of a body and get the hell out of here" mode. I'd imagine from the moment she was dead until he was back in Florida he wasn't strolling around anywhere in flip flops anymore.

I hope they can wrap this up soon so we can move on to solving the 150 year old mystery of the Mary Celeste.

but would they have used a cadaver dog before they knew that there was an actual dead body? or are we assuming they did that today?

I don't think he's as 'caught' as you say. Depending on her cause of death, they might not have any real hard evidence that he killed her. If her cause of death is something that could have happened accidentally, it could be really hard to pin this on him with solid evidence.

I mean he's not even officially a suspect right?

Why wouldn't they? It wouldn't be a very thorough inspection of the van if they didn't use all resources available.

If she was dead in the van the cadaver dog would have picked up on it when they confiscated the van in Florida and he would have been arrested or had a warrant out for his arrest.

I mean in the bodycam footage they establish that he had disgusting feet. Maybe his hobofootcheese masked the cadaver smell. Maybe his hobofootcheese was the spark that set the final argument alight.

Was there really part of their video edited out as they approached and have they said why they took it out?
