I still don’t understand why this dumbass didn’t lawyer up as soon as he got back to Baton Rouge after the battery charge. He had to have know Red was in the hospital fighting for his life and what the consequences were going to be if he died

I have a feeling he and his family are poor white idiots. He deserves to rot in jail.

And in a related story??
Man knocks out CBD robbery victim before police arrive, arrest him: NOPD

Can there be a ring of pretty boys operating in N. O. whose real goal is to get sent to the slammer? (pun at readers discretion)

It is actually possible that no one is lying. Depending on a witnesses vantage point and their interpretation of what they saw you can get wildly different accounts from witnesses.
Please explain

If the witnesseses say Ward attacked for no apparant reason, and Jackson was just walking down the street, who the frick told the family he was saving a woman from being beaten?

Look, Ward looks like he straight murdered the guy. But we now have a more detailed account of what the witnessesse told the police, and it doesn't mention the woman beating. How are you still holding any faith at all in the families story?

The family is probably going off hearsay and embellishing a bit, who knows.

Regardless this guy is absolutely fricked if the witnesses are correct and it was unprovoked.

In documents that cite several eyewitnesses, New Orleans police allege that a visibly drunk and agitated Ward punched and kicked Jackson after 1 a.m. on Jan. 6 in the 2000 block of St. Charles Avenue for "no apparent reason."

Jesus. If true, he's fricked.

I think the family got fed some bullshite about the woman thing.

If this turd can afford a good Lawyer they may get this reduced to Manslaughter but the Civil Suit will F him for years.

They family would be better off with him out and working so he could pay.

Not likely if he attacked and killed this guy for no reason. That's sociopathic behavior.

And those of you who think a blue-eyed pretty boy like that is gonna go to any prison and not get raped, you’re seriously naive. He’ll be a walking bullseye from Day One.

I would totally hit it.
But not without consent of course.

Maybe you can get a cell next to him. Just go beat a old dude down and finish him when he is down.

In all honesty this is a damn shame that this young man got drunk and fricked out his life and his family. Old guy RIP

The malice involved in the crime is transferred to the killing, resulting in a charge of manslaughter. ... There is no intent to kill, and a resulting death would not be considered murder, but would be considered involuntary manslaughter.

Nope.

It has been discussed over and over in here, intent to kill is not the only prerequisite for a murder charge.

So, this guy was pissed off that his gf left his drunk arse behind and while walking a he encountered some street hustlers looking to take advantage.... he becomes irrate screaming at a female hustler, ole Red comes over with his mouth running and bro kicks the life out of him...

I lived in nola a long time, 99% chamce Red was up to no good.. Didnt deserve to die, but i wld bet he wasnt there trying to defend some random girl.
